Consistently good food - friendly place for old-timers and newcomers 2/22/2009

This is not your 20 somethings loud drinking bar and restaurant! All ages are welcome, but this is more for the over 20 crowd...singles, families and couples. Quiet enough to hold a conversation, loud enough to have fun.\r \r This restaurant is a great place to have a quick, non fast food meal or a dinner out with friends and/or family to talk or watch a game on one of their multiple TV's. The food is always good, their specials change daily and they also have an ""all you can eat catfish"" on Friday nights. Good steaks and ribs to one of the best hamburgers in town. The menu has choices from chicken, pork chops, steak, salads, etc. They have a child's menu and homeade desserts...the coconut cake is a killer.\r \r The staff is friendly and I have never felt rushed, even when eating alone on a busy night. Go there a few times and they will know your name. They serve liquor, wine and beer and you can eat at the bar. \r \r To update a review I read below: There is NO smoking anywhere and if you are sitting at a table your server will handle the bill. You do not have to take it up to the bar. Pros: Easy parking, good hours more

Sports Bar food, plus great Meat & Three selections IMPROVED 3/27/2008

A return visit to Daltons proved worth the trip. The meat and three selections are terrific. The turnip greens and white bean side dishes are great. Corn bread cakes are perfect. Sunday (after church) it gets crowded, so it is recommended to get there early for lunch. The odd and inconvenient method of paying is problematic and especially so during busy times. The front bar/manager is the only way to pay for your meal, so customers have to get up from their table and stand at the bar (sometimes in line) behind other seated bar patrons, reach around people seated at the bar, and deal with payment of their bill, which of course sometimes involves signing of credit card vouchers, etc. Not only is this a major inconvenience for the people who have to walk over to the bar to pay, but the people seated and often eating at the bar get irritated with the constant flow of reach-around bill paying customers getting sometimes too close for comfort while paying their bill. This is very odd and seems easy to fix by designating one area at the bar for payment, away from the bar-seated patrons. Or, just accept payment at the table like all other restaurants do. The food is good though. Give it a try. Pros: Good meat and three, plus other foods. No smoking! Cons: Payment system is weird. more

Try DALTON's of Bellevue - its the best! 4/25/2006

This local meat and three is so delicious... my family and I visit here at least one a week. The fresh vaggies served daily make the perfect meal - or any of their low priced specials. Don't miss the all-you-can-eat catfish on Fridays - its lightly battered and fresh as can be! Pros: great sports bar, tasty food, nice staff Cons: can get crowded, sometimes smoky more

YOU HAVE TO TRY THE STEAK AND BISCUITS 2/10/2006

We don't eat in very often, however we do order out all the time. the steak and biscuit dinner can't be beat. Make a speacial trip just for this and you won't be let down. VERY GOOD and cooked to order. ENJOY. more

My local Oasis 8/1/2005

The first time I went into Dalton's my bartender introduced himself to me. From that point on, I was on a name basis with my bartenders (Joe and Eric). I don't normally have to order a drink as they always remember and have it waiting by the time I sit down. The few times I have ordered the steak it is always cooked overdone. But for the most part, the food is your typical tasty bar food. The casual atmosphere is inviting and friendly! One of my favorite placees in Nashville! Pros: Friendly Atmosphere, Parking Cons: If Busy, Hurried svc! more

Best Meat and Three 4/12/2005

Food is very fresh and one of the best Meat and Three in the city. Evening meals have large portions and the pricing is in line with other places. Pros: Taste, Variety Cons: Service more

If you are a native Nashvillian and remember the Steak Biscuits of Irelands restaurant (years gone by) you MUST try Dalton's Grill. Okay, there isn't a non-smoking section, but there is a feeling of your neighborhood eatery and neighborly welcome from the staff. If you are looking for a slightly off the beaten path type of atmosphere and good food, there is no better place to look than this totally unpretentious hideout located in the Bellevue Krogers shopping area. Pros: great food, wide ranging menu, responsive staff Cons: , sometimes smokey, squeezed seating more

Good hamburgers 11/25/2002

Sometimes, it's a little smoky, but it's a great meat & three for the money. The service is very friendly, if a little hurried. more

It's a neighborhood joint 9/30/2002

It's a neighborhood joint where young and old mix and say hello to each other. There isn't a stranger to be had in the place. The food is consistently good, staff is friendly and for my money one of the best values in Nashville. Check out the Ribeye and the all you can eat Catfish on Fridays or try one of Eric's Bloody Marys on Sunday. You won't be a stranger. more
