Editorial review from Citysearch 9/4/2013

Very disappointed. I will have to change my Rheumotologist, unfortunately, because she is affiliated with this hospital. Sent there for an EMG test, on my legs, I could not get off the table because of severe pain in my calf. (Test results were fine.) Over the next week, my leg became discolored, painful and swollen. Back to the doctor, she suspected a blood clot in my leg! I was sent back to CyFair, right from the office, for an ""emergency"" doppler. The next day, by late afternoon, my doctor had not even received the preliminary report. I had to call the director of cardiology imaging, myself, to contact the doctor with the results, while I was waiting on pins and needles. Fortunately, it was not a dangerous blood clot, but a hemotoma, caused by the needles put in my legs during the EMG! Shoddy work, all around, CyFair! more

Billing Fraud 4/13/2012

HORRIBLE billing experience!!! I switched to Baylor 3years and I have never had a problem! I am still fighting with this place (Google Tenet billing fraud) about $500 from a visit 4 years ago. It's not about the $$ for me anymore, it's about the audacity of how they treat their customers. The billing department and the managers are the most uncaring individuals I have ever dealt with. You would think they run a jail house not a hospital. Get copies of every piece of paperwork, all payments made, agreements, and EOB's for future (4 yrs. later) heartache dealing with these folks. BBB rates this hospital "F" from billing complaints....Look it up!! DO NOT GO HERE - DRIVE TO THE MED CENTER for anythng...BUYER BEWARE more

Disgusted 2/9/2011

I had scheduled a mammo with the Women's Imaging Center on Barker Cypress. I CAREFULLY asked for a FULL DISCLOSURE on the cash price. I asked if there would be ANY OTHER CHARGES. They said no. I was shocked when three weeks later I receive A BILL FOR $180. After calling they have the excuse that they are to get their portion too, and I have to pay it. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. I didn't know they had anything to do with this, or I wouldn't have. I had a terrible, life-threatening experience with the Cyfair Hospitals in the mid-80s. This is fraud the way they handled my mammo. :-( more

HORRIBLE 1/15/2009

I was sent to this hospital to get an ultrasound:\r I sat in the waiting room for an hour and six minutes before I was allowed to see the financial assistant who verifies your insurance. \r Once that was done I was told to go back to the waiting room. \r Once buzzer went off I returned it to the nurse standing at the desk named Valerie. She never greeted me or explained any procedures to me. It was horrible!\r \r ** they told me to drink 32oz of water before I came too. You try being pregnant and holding 32oz of water in your bladder for 2 hours! more

Excellent Care 6/22/2007

It seems Cy-Fair Hospital has changed a lot lately. We had not really needed them for a year or so, but were pleasantly surprised during an ER visit a few weeks back. New ER!!! Tons of rooms! I actually could not count them all. In and out in about an hour and a half. My daughter even got to be in a room with kids stuff on the walls. The doctor actually looked at her and talked to her. When was the last time any doctor looked at the patient, much less a kid. Oh, and by the way, they did actually explain to us that the charges may appear high, but our insurance would cover most of it, and we would have a relatively small amount to pay.We went back for some follow-up testing this week, and the outpatient department was so nice to us! We felt like they really cared, and we were registered and in the MRI by our appointment time. They even played with my daughter like she was in a spaceship while her MRI was being done. She wasn't even scared. She thought it was cool. Very impressive, and v more

Cy Fair ER 5/9/2007

I took my son to the ER for a cut on his chin, which required a few stitches. We were there from 10:45 to 12:00 midnight, and the charge was $1,789!!!!!\r I was not asked for an insurance card until AFTER the stitches were done. \r How can an ER charge this amount without informing the patient before the services are performed, especially when the stitches could have been treated otherwise?\r I called other nearby ER's and the charges seemed excessive to them, also.\r The ER's at nearby hospitals were very busy, next time we will follow the crowds. more

Hopsital 11/8/2005

Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center is a medical community. It takes up about 10 blocks. They are very professional and have exceptional staff that work for them. I like the hospital overall. I do not care for the emergency room at all. They are not quick to your needs and kind of blow you off with them. But admittance into the hospital, care is excellence! more

ER was a joke! 10/11/2005

My husband was ambulance transported to Cypress Fairbanks medical center due to chest pains while at work. Wish they would of taken him somewhere else. This hospital is not equipped for a Cardiac emergency and the nurses let us know upon his arrival. Very unprofessional! They dont have a cardiac unit at this hospital. We could not believe it! The ER rooms were dated and the doctor was rude and overworked! We sat for 6 hours waiting on tests etc. Luckily there was no sign of a heart attack and they did try to admit my husband for safe keeping. He refused and we visited his doctor next morning at her office. She told us they are rebuilding the ER as it is too small to accomadate this area. And they will have a cardiac unit soon too! Well until then I suggest going to Memorial for any chest pains as they are better equipped. Live and learn! more

Cyfair Fairbanks Medical Center 8/24/2005

delivery in this hospital and overall the staff was great. The hospital food was good as well! (surprisingly) My only complaint are the beds. Your basically deliver in the same type of bed and stay in the same bed throught your stay at the hospital. Staff was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. PROS: CONS: maternity beds (awful!) more
