The nurses and care we received were great.
But administratively, there needs to be some work. First issue I had was with pre-registering for my child's birth. I faxed the registration form over per the instructions. I got busy and forgot to check back, but a couple weeks later I called to verify it had been received. I was told, "No." Had them check again and it really had been received, but not processed. Seemed sloppy to me.
Second issue I have is with the billing department. We had to pay up-front for my child's birth--which is fine. However, I started receiving bills that showed I hadn't paid up-front, and each subsequent statement showed a different total billed amount. There is a lot of confusion and discrepancy re: the amount my insurance said it agreed upon and what the hospital said it agreed upon. Futhermore, while speaking to a representative, the hospital said my co-pay amount was different than what the insurance said I owed. Overall, just a sloppy, messy, garbled job on the hospital's part.
I had my first child at a different hospital, and the payment process was much nicer. The hospital had all the parties submit the bills to them first, and then sent me a finalized bill. Much simpler, more efficient, much less stressful. I wish Cy-Fair would consider doing something like that, or at least process the patients' payments correctly and wait until a final amount has been determined before billing.
