Best

I have lived in LA for 2 years now and have been in search of the perfect salon and hair stylist..and I finally found one. Cush salon has such a cool vibe and I felt taken care of...

Worst

I don't hate the haircut I got, but it is pretty far from the trim I asked for... Maybe because my stylist was a little young, she did the cut she wanted to do instead of the one ...

Cush salon is Cushy and Fabulous! 4/6/2008

As a historically ""fair-weather"" hair client, my first 5 years in LA were spent ""salon hopping"" from one ""it"" salon to the next getting colored, cut and blown. Being a hard core new yorker I was never fully satistified with the results and so, I continued to search for the ""holy grail"" of hair management and beauty in Los Angeles. \r \r Finally, 2 years ago, my friend from work told me about her amazing hairdresser; Angela Rushing of the Cush Salon on Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills.. I immediately called for an appointment and have never looked back. My ""chair-hopping"" days are over and I have truly found a home for my hair at the Cush salon. I've never looked better or felt better about my look and, fortunately, everyone else agrees too. \r \r Plus, where else can you can a kick-ass ""hector salad"" and a latte while the color on your hair does it's thang? The staff is friendly, the parking is easy and Angela is a doll! more

Angela Rushing is the bomb. 4/4/2008

After years of hunting for a great haircut in LA, my search ended when I found Angela Rushing. Angela has been my hair stylist since 1995 and I can?t imagine trusting my haircuts to anyone else. She?s truly an artist. It may sound cliche to say that she?s the best, but I can think of no better way to describe her skills. She creates styles for my hair that suit my lifestyle and draw raves from my friends. \r \r The perfect compliment to Angela?s skills is her assistant, Alex. His scalp massages are to die for. Angela has been working at CUSH for the last few years and it?s a pleasure to go there. CUSH is a salon where I always feel welcome. An added benefit of CUSH is being able to view Hector?s phenomenal artwork that covers the walls of the salon. Pros: Fun, professional atmosphere with great salads from the cafe! Cons: Arrive a few minutes early to snag a parking space more

Angela Rushing is the Best 4/4/2008

The Cush Salon is great. A fun place. Relaxed. Great food. Everybody seems to be laughing when they are there. However, Angela Rushing is the reason I go. She is amazing. Before I started getting my hair cut with Angela, I couldn't get a date. 8 years later, I still go to Angela. She is basically responsible for me getting action. No Angela, no action. Simple as that for me. I basically leave the salon happy every time. I walk out looking as good as I'm able - which, with Angela in charge, isn't bad. She is truly talented and has become a great friend. \r \r \r \r Pros: Fun atmosphere, nice folks, amazingly talented crew Cons: Not cheap - but worth it! more

Best Hair Stylist in L.A. 4/4/2008

I was moved to write a review of Angela at Cush Salon because her amazing ability to make my hair look gorgeous has gotten me tons of compliments for years. I know it's just a big ego trip but how great do I feel when people tell me my hair looks beautiful? Really great! The best part is, it's not just right after she does the cut. The compliments keep coming as it grows out because Angela really knows how to cut hair and flatter the client with a unique and fitting style. She is also EXCELLENT with highlights. Cush is perfect because it's high end but warm. I always feel welcome, comfortable and the staff is fun to be around. I have fun connecting with the clientele. Cush just really attracts some quality people. The food is good and sushi is practically next door if you want it. Alex, Angela's assistant is amazing too! more

Cush Salon and Angela Rushing - A perfect combination for an amazing salon experience! 4/4/2008

I have worked in the fashion and wedding industry for over 20 years and in this competitive market it's refreshing to find a salon that not only has the highest degree of talent, but has found a way to combine an upscale, yet fun and funky environment. I not only drive nearly two hours for my personal appointment with Angela, but refer her to all my clients. Whether it's a special night on the red carpet or that once in a lifetime upscale wedding, Angela will give you that head turning glamour. Her specialty though, is keeping her clients LOOKING YOUNG on a day to day basis! She chooses the perfect color and cut to keep all her clients feeling fresh and new with all of todays HOT styles. No one can walk out of Cush Salon without reflecting their overwhelming talent for style and fashion! Pros: Fun & relaxing atmosphere; Talented and highly qualified staff Cons: Parking more

Angela is and has always been my favorite stylist :-) 4/4/2008

Having been with Angela for 14 years (yikes) I know first hand how amazing she is. She has always listened to what I'm ""feeling"" with my hair and gives me the most natural blonde & a cut that always works for me even as it grows out. I've followed her to Cush and am so happy since they have a great atmosphere, amazing food from the cafe, great music and friendly staff. I've referred many people to her & everyone who has been Loves her just like I do :-) more

Angela Works Her Magic At Cush 4/4/2008

Cush is where it's at. It's comfortable, relaxed, cool, and groovy - without trying to be. How unusual in LA. There is no filler here. Stylists are the real deal, and hair is the priority! What a concept. My fave hair guru is ANGELA. She's up on the latest styles, listens to what you like, takes your lifestyle into consideration, and gives you the most awesome hair cut and color imaginable. I would know - I am a readhead, and that is challenging. My color lasts between appointments, and my cuts grow out nicely. I couldn't ask for more. ANGELA is the bomb! She works her magic on kids, men, women, models - you name it. Do yourself a favor - book an appointment with ANGELA - have an experience, and look good. Then, count the compliments you get. Take it from me - a hard to please, gotta get it right, wavy haired red head. And, you never know who you'll meet at Cush... I met my husband. What are you waiting for? Pros: great staff, very cool music, nice vibe, no attitude Cons: street parking, but always a spot - no worries more

Cush is FIERCE! 4/3/2008

The vibe is casual chic and Cush is my salon for life. My personal, most favorite stylist is Angela - she's the best and I fly in from NY just to see her. Wouldn't trust my hair with anyone else. She's meticulous, has a great sense of style, super talented and knows exactly how to interpret what I want each and every time. The salon staff is so welcoming and the cafe offering is yummalicious. Pros: talented stylist, onsite cafe, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, no BH attitude Cons: parking more

Great hairstylist: Angela is truly an angel 4/3/2008

If you can get an appointment, Angela Rushing at Cush Salon on Robertson is awesome. I love the way she makes my hair look . Our daughter comes all the way from Santa Barbara because she loves the way Angela cuts her hair. I notice alot of men having their hair styled by her as well. Another bonus is that it always a pleasure to spend some time with her because of her positive energy. Pros: great cut, relaxing atmosphere, nice lunch or snacks Cons: a bit pricey, but you know that is the way it is more

Finally...New York Style and Greatness in LA!!!!! 3/12/2008

You have got to go. You have got to see Alizabeth. It's taken me 4 years to find a place as good as the even average place in NYC and now I have one that just as good! The place has an amazing feel to it, its so open with great colors and amethyst crystals under the floors. Gladys is the absolute bomb apprentice who gives a scalp message to sell your favorite bag for. And Alizabeth, finally, is like the stylist I had back in NYC! Perfect highlights everytime, perfect cut, perfect energy. No pretentious attitudes or arrogance here, just pure talent and grace.\r See for yourself, you will not be sorry! more

Exceptional Service 3/6/2008

This is not your average Beverly Hills salon....\r From the minute I walk in everyone is super friendly. They make sure I'm comfortable and relaxed. \r I've had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Martine Le Blanc. She is so creative, passionate and inspiring. She brings forth her radiant energy to everything she does. I always leave the salon happy and excited.\r I recommend her to all my friends and you. She's an amazing stylist! Pros: Great Music, Good Food Available, and Yummy Tea Cons: Parking can be challenging more

Pricey, but worth it! 1/28/2008

Alizabeth Denman is the best! The two times she's cut my hair were the best cuts I've ever had. Yes, it's expensive (over $100), but I always leave feeling I got my money's worth (and more). more

Awesome Mens Haircut By Martine Le Blanc 1/11/2008

I'm the type of guy that used to get my hair done at the barber and never really changed my hairstyle much. On a friends recommendation I took the plunge and made an appointment to see Martine Le Blanc at Cush Salon, which I have to say is probably the coolest looking place I've seen. Martine is a super friendly person who actually listened to what I wanted my hair to look like, and gave me options that would suite me if I wanted to be a bit more hip and change it up. This is the first time in my life I have had a haircut that gets compliments, and I really trust Martine to the point where I can try something new. It's a great feeling having a stylist that knows who you are and what you like, plus my hair always looks really good now. Thanks Martine. Pros: Great Cafe and Staff Cons: Like the rest of L.A, parking isn't perfect. more

Excellent Salon in a land where there are too many! 12/20/2007

Martine Le Blanc does my hair and I have never had it looking so good. This is my first time on City Search and I am pleased to say that I am very happy. My hair is hard to manage and I have traveled to other salons in the area, yet I am most pleased here. They even have a cafe with a chef that makes tasty salads and a yogurt parfait that I have any time of day. Martine is a very attentive stylist. She never rushes me and is always on time. We color my hair, to hide the grays of course, and it always is so natural looking. I have thick shoulder length hair and it looks so volumous and shiny. It is hard to choose a salon where the energy is calming yet you know you are on the cutting edge ( a little pun there!) This is an unpretentious salon that will give you the results that you desire.\r Enjoy! Pros: Beutiful decor and very hip stylists Cons: Not open on Sundays and Mondays more

Martine Le Blanc does amazing hair! 12/20/2007

Wow, I can't say eough 'bout Cush... It is the most relaxing salon I've been to. It has such awesome decor; it is so modern and urban. They play killer music and it has a cafe Martine Le Blanc does my cut and color and she is soooo good. She totally gets what I am asking for and I am never nervous. I have really thick hair and she still knows how to give me an edgy cut. We change my color all the time and she always makes sure that the condition of my hair stays healthy. I love that! She uses Kerastase treatments that really work. Alizabeth Denman did my relaxer with Liscio and it looks great. So smooth....\r So go there... it rocks and you will love your beautiful, healthy hair! Pros: Awesome service, edgy style and great hair Cons: metered parking but they ran out to fill meter! more

Love cush 12/16/2007

Gorgeously funky decor, feels like NYC in beverly hills. All of the employees were very friendly, hip and professional. Alizabeth is the best hair dresser in CA. What a beautiful salon, with a cafe too! Pros: customer satisfaction, great hair and beautiful interior style more

CUSH ROCKS!! 12/14/2007

I'd had extensions for almost a year before I wen to CUSH SALON. I had 2 different hairdressers put them in and had 2 different types of hair used, so I thought I knew a lot about extensions and how to maintain them. When my hairdresser moved back to NY and left me with a tangled mop of extensions, I panicked! Who could do my cut, color and maintenance on my hair extensions?? Then my close friend went to Cush and had a complete Oprah moment - CHASSI OLIVER transformed my friend from a lovely woman to a hot momma rock star! She looks fabulous. Okay, I disgress....so, I figure, wow - they can probably help me. I call, I talk to ALIZABETH DENMAN who is a fabulous stylist (cut, color, extens. & relaxers) and specializes in hair extensions. I brought my head and hair to ALIZABETH and she worked her magic on me. Now this is my third time but sitting in that chair, I felt like a nubie. I learned sooo much from her. She taught me about the proper way of putting the hair in, the proper way to clamp the hair, the right amount of pieces to use, plus she educated me on how to care for the hair afterwards! I must say that unequivocablly, ALIZABETH IS THE BEST!!! She put in just enough pieces to give me my hair that fullness, lushness that you want from extensions, but she put them in so perfectly that you can not see anyof the tips in my hair. It looks natural, full and gorgeous! Plus, CHASSI gave me THE BEST COLOR and CUT. Between the two of them, CHASSI & ALIZABETH transformed my whole look. I couldn't be happier and never thought I could look this great! And they've got a cafe that serves delicious food & beverages, the chairs are very comfortable (important when you have to sit in them for hours!), and the staff is friendly, helpful and professional. They even fed my meter twice! Major love and creativity. CUSH ROCKS. If you're looking for someone talented enough to see exactly what looks best on you, then head over to Cush. You'll be in great hands! Pros: salon is airy, comfortable and has its own delicious cafe. Stylists are excellent! Cons: Parking can be challenging more

Cush great Salon 12/6/2007

I like Cush, the people are very friendly, it has a modern stylish look to the Salon yet very comfortable, I always use Alizabeth to cut my hair, I followed her from another Salon, shes been cutting my hair for about 5 years and I am very happy. Pros: great hair great salon more

A hair superstar 9/16/2007

I've been going to Hector Rodriguez, co-owner of Cush Salon, for over ten years and I am completely spoiled. Whenever I travel and have to find someone to color or dry my hair (I'd never, ever let anyone else cut it), they are always impressed by my color and cut and I am inevitably disappointed by the job they do. I love that I can go to one person to do everything. And like the salon he's created, Hector's relaxed, unpretentious and fun (in fact, he's hilarious). I get uncomfortable in most salons, especially the trendy ones where you're made to feel like they're doing you a favor by cutting your hair. Everyone at Cush is friendly and casual; they remember your name and seem genuinely happy to see you. But the stars are Hector and his partner Chassi Oliver, who are magicians. Every time I see Hector I get compliments on my hair; people stop me in the street to ask where I get it done. The guy is a hair god! Pros: Service, friendliness, sexiest hair in town Cons: There's only one Hector Rodriguez. more

High end haircut for a great price 8/15/2007

Hector, the co-owner of Cush, cuts the most fabulous feminine haircuts. I have sent 5 different women to him each how walk out uber impressed with his abilities to cut AND color. The best part is he is well priced for the type of cut you are getting. Pros: Best feminine haircuts more
