I've been going to Hector Rodriguez, co-owner of Cush Salon, for over ten years and I am completely spoiled. Whenever I travel and have to find someone to color or dry my hair (I'd never, ever let anyone else cut it), they are always impressed by my color and cut and I am inevitably disappointed by the job they do. I love that I can go to one person to do everything. And like the salon he's created, Hector's relaxed, unpretentious and fun (in fact, he's hilarious). I get uncomfortable in most salons, especially the trendy ones where you're made to feel like they're doing you a favor by cutting your hair. Everyone at Cush is friendly and casual; they remember your name and seem genuinely happy to see you. But the stars are Hector and his partner Chassi Oliver, who are magicians. Every time I see Hector I get compliments on my hair; people stop me in the street to ask where I get it done. The guy is a hair god!
Pros: Service, friendliness, sexiest hair in town
Cons: There's only one Hector Rodriguez.
