Met friends there for lunch who arrived an hour before me and ordered drinks and appetizers. Then we all ordered lunch. Wait staff started swarming around us as if we just ordered...

Editorial review from GrubHub 1/16/2014

I ordered the waffle with bacon and a scrambled egg. I assumed that because it was super expensive ($17!) that it would be really special, but the waffle was only slightly bigger than the ones you can buy in the freezer section and tasted about the same. I was really disappointed, and felt that I had been completely ripped off. I know it's in SoHo and everything costs more there, but come on! For that price, it should have come with four waffles if they were going to make them so cheaply. more

Amazing French Toast 7/17/2010

Had eggs florentine - spinach is mixed with ricotta, which was nice - and french toast. Brioche is made on-site, which kicks the french toast up a notch, and while brunch didn't knock my socks off overall, very comforting food, large portions, and warm atmosphere. Recommended to put in the brunch lineup for anyone who is a brunch junkie like me. more

Good & Consistent 11/20/2009

Been going here for weekday breakfasts for 20 years. Always good, coffee is excellent and yes, they have Manhattan prices. more

UNPRETENTIOUS and CHARMING, one of my favorites! 2/1/2009

There's something about a SoHo joint where you can get to know the staff. I love the oversized salads. I love the whole wheat waffle with strawberries. I love the lattes that Rani (the infamous barista) makes. The decor makes me smile. I've been coming here for 15 years.... What can I say, I love this place. more

great coffee even at night 8/22/2008

My favorite find 7/9/2008

I can't say enough about this place. Its been my favorite brunch spot for years. Every time I bring friends they are always impressed by the food and the decor. And the coffee is soo good, seriously much better than any other american spots. So needless to say I go whenever I'm in the states for brunch/lunch food but I only recently tried dinner. I was so impressed! They had a authentic jazz band and the meal was INCREDIBLE. Not to mention I sat next to Claire Danes!! What an evening! ...This place is highly recommended! Pros: Everything!! Best find thus far! more

Good food and ambiance, but poor value and service 5/31/2008

The nymag.com online menu is out-of-date, my stuffed french toast was $15.95 not $11.95 as reported here. It is a cool place, and the food is good, but overall, it is overpriced in my opinon. Our waiter was not good, we watched him chat with his co-workers during our whole meal. more

Editorial review from GrubHub 4/16/2008

The food quality was very good however, the fajitas came with nearly nothing except chicken and a tortilla and a couple strips of pepper. No sauteed onions, no tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, rice, beans , lime...nothing. Admittedly, it was pretty good chicken and tortilla. The quesadilla was very good, although I can tell it had sat for quite a while before it ever went out the door due to the congealed and hardened once-melted cheese. Delicious just the same, even cold...which it was. This could have easily been a 4/5 star affair, had they gotten these very simple steps correct. Seems a fixable situation and I would def give them one more try in the hopes this was an off night. more

BESTEST BRUNCH!!! 11/27/2007

SO, I heard about this place, that ""supposed"" to have the best brunch ever. We show up and I at first was not impressed with the decor and all. But I was impressed on how busy it was and the cosiness of the place. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table, so I had a cup of coffee at the bar which was perfect. Furthermore, I was impressed with the waiter and the amazing food. Everything was fresh and perfectly balanced for a great hearty breakfast/lunch. I ordered the eggs benedict, their special french toast and brownie a la mode. Alot huh? but I couldnt resist. I will definitely be going back!!! Pros: FOOD more

The last authentic place in soho 9/8/2007

This place is great--I've been going for years because it is one of the few places that have not changed since the 80's. The ambiance is classic and its staff nice, handsome, and fashionable. Most worthy of note are its excellent weekend brunches (and its bloody marys) and its Wednesday Night Middle Eastern Night--- the latter is hardly contrived--- in fact the owners come from that part of the world, and the proof is, indeed, in their hummus. more

Most worthy of note are its excellent weekend brunches (and its bloody marys) and its Wednesday Night Middle Eastern Night--- the latter is hardly contrived--- in fact the owners come from that part of the world, and the proof is, indeed, in their hummus. On normal days I like the Tahini Chicken and Skirt Steak-- the best brunch items are the omelettes-my favorite is the spinach feta- and the eggs benedict. Contrary to what this site says, the Cupping Room is very romantic--however in this capacity I'd say drinks are more suitable than dinner. Also, if you're fortunate enough to live in the neighborhood there doesn't exist a better "local joint'" in the world.. more

Cozy AND Yummy... 8/9/2007

I went in for lunch early last month, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Staples like the service and food were excellent, but I was most pleased with the relaxing atmosphere. I didn't feel pressure to leave and was able to enjoy my (rather large) latte while leisurely reading. I've been back several times since and the experience has been consistently positive. The salads are HUGE and the omlettes are very unique.... delicious. ...Very highly recomended... Pros: Ambience, Food, Service more
