Went to the Cub Room for brunch and arrived just when Brazil was about to play France in the World Cup (France won). Here we were surrounded by a passionate legion of loud soccer fans who were eating/drinking in the restaurant PLUS a small army of passerbys outside who stopped to enjoy the match.
We ate in the small dining area adjacent to the bar and quickly scarfed down a couple of sandwiches and drinks. The waiter, though busy, was very accommodating realizing that we didn't come here to watch the soccer match but wanted to eat a leisurely lunch. Typical brunch fare including several egg dishes, bagels w/smoked salmon, club and burger sandwiches is served up here. Service was efficient, we were seated immediatelyly, our meals were served promptly, as ordered and hot. The food was decent. Clean restrooms. Big thumbs up.
Love this neighborhood and would certainly consider returning to the Cub Room for lunch or dinner.
