I had my daughters wedding dress steam, and I also recomended a co-worker to take her daughter's wedding dress, we were both not to impressed with the final results, the dress was not completely pressed at a price of $180 I expected better results. we went here because I read the good reviews.\r Also my friend took the dress back to have it heirloom, since the owner said we would get a good price, the good price turn out to be $550.00, my friend was in shock at the price she was being quoted, plus she was told that they needed to keep the dress for a few months because they are so busy, I would not\r recomend this place, I think they need to evaluate what they charge for their services. more

Crystal Cleaning is in a class of their own 10/4/2007

"World Class" rating fits the bill for Crystal Cleaning. I would highly recommend them without reservation. Crystal was founded by the current owner's mother. Everything that they do is with a sense of pride and in service to their customers/clients. They are more expensive yes, but worth every penny. Unlike the vast vast majority of places, when you get your things back from Crystal they don't stink like drycleaning fluids. This is because they change the cleaning fluids often so that your items aren't being cleaned in dirty fluids. \r The first time I went (referred by a wonderful seemstress in Menlo Park), they offered a tour of the facilties. - Go in and ask for one yourself. They take such loving care of everything. Each garmet is carefully inspected, buttons sewn back on, torn seems mended. If you have any garmets that you are at all concerned about, this is the place to take them. I drive over 45 minutes to drop my things (or do it on the way up to SF). I have bee more

First Choice for Fine Apparel 9/14/2007

With all due respect, I'm not sure the other reviewers who have commented here really understand the market niche that is filled by Crystal Cleaners. This is not the place to take your everyday button-down shirts from Banana Republic. This is the place to take your $2500 dress from Neiman Marcus, your irreplaceable vintage tablecloths, your silk-and-wool custom suit from Italy. OF COURSE Crystal Cleaners is expensive. Think about the liabillity they take on by cleaning these types of items which are very expensive and/or have tremendous sentimental value! One reason they don't have a quick turnaround time is because it's frankly unnecessary in most cases, given the types of items they care for. (How often do you wear your vintage Valentino gown?? Every other day? If it takes a couple weeks to clean it, who cares??) I have taken my very good cleaning to Crystal Cleaning Center Twice now, and I will not be returning. Both times they gave me not truthful excuses why I had to wait almost 25 minutes the first time, today the same excuse, I asked the clerk what she was doing with my sweater she said she was debilitating it. She had told me when I came to get them, they only had to be bagged. The price was outrageous. I was quite upset when I got home and opened the bags they were not cleaned and they-were stretched out of shaped. I then looked at my Jacket I had cleaned previously by Crystal Cleaning Center, and found the that it also was some what stretched out of shape. I believe this was done because of its cleaning done by an unprofessional while I was waiting both times. I have taken my cleaning to a one hour cleaners in Burlingame, and have never been dissatisfied. Beyond disappointed more
