I have gone to Crossroads for many years and loved them, unfortunately today that changed and I will never go back. I haven't had an Amina's for a few years and adopted a little dog last month. She seemed to have a problem urinating and I took her in and 300 dollars later was told she had kidney stones and could only eat a special type of dog food for the rest of her life. I was charged twice for the one bag of dog food ( which is very expensive) and when I called the office back with the mistake, they did not want to give me a refund, I was instead told that they carry this dog food all the time and why don't I just keep it as a credit, that way I wouldn't have to pay for dog food the next month so I agreed. I went I today to get the bag if dog food and you guessed it, they were out, however they had a larger size that I could pay the 50 dollar difference for. I declined and asked for my money back so I could go get he food at another vets office. I was told that they can only mod refunds during the week. I asked the receptionist what I was suppose to do about feeding the dog and she told me that I was my problem, noting they could do! The office staff are rude, they seem to only want your money Even when they make a mistake they won't refund you, they have no concern for the animals oR the owners. I asked to speak to the vet and was told I could sit and wait for an hour and a half and she might talk to me! This office has gone downhill and I am appalled at the unfeeling attitude the staff has. I would def think twice before coming to Crossroads. more

Take care!!! For the most part I have had a good experience at Crossroads Animal Hospital. They have taken good care of my dogs and other animals. But last time was different! I took my dog in to Crossroads, it had been hurt in an accident. They rushed him into an evaluation room. After about an half hour they said he will be Ok, but needed surgery to sew up his cuts and needed extended care and wanted him to stay a few days. I checked on him Fridays and they said he was doing great. \r Late Sunday night I got a call from Crossroads telling me my dog is nearly dead. I did not sleep all night and rushed in in the morning. My dog was in a coma. I asked what happened. All they said his wounds got infected. I asked how did this happen. No one would tell me. I kept asking over and over again how did this happen. Finally after an hour someone came forward and told me the truth. They do not monitor or keep anyone on staff at night or the weekends. My dog was locked in a cage with an IV for two days all alone. Some time during those two days my dog got its E-Collar off and tore open its wounds and eat a hole into its gut. So much for extended care, did they do some wrong? They do not say they have a 24 hour or weekend staff. But they don’t say everyone goes home after business hours. Leave your pet at you own risk. Could this of happen at home, yes. But if I knew the facts I could have made the decision. I would have never left my dog locked in a cage unattended for two days inured.\r All I got was were sorry this happened, your bill is 1500 and we might be able to save your dog with another 2500 dollars and you need to leave it for two weeks. Not having the 2500 my dog died. I just hope this story makes people aware they need to ask important questions when leaving your animal with a vet.\r more

Extra Fabulous 9/26/2011

I have always felt that my pets received excellent care here. All of the staff has always been helpful and polite as well. It's when things are tough that you realize what you are dealing with. The night of the Bastrop wildfires, I had no idea where I would take my 2 large dogs and my bird. At 8:30 pm, I pulled in to see the lights were still on at Crossroads. I opened the door to see crates wall to wall of animals that had been left there. They took my pets in too. I stopped in several times to walk the dogs and they were always so nice to me. I know they couldn't be taking in their normal appointments because there was no place to do it. I'm sure this was a financial burden as they also were feeding all the pets. They did not ask for payment or donations for boarding all these pets. Wow, what a way to give back to the community when we needed it most. Crossroads, you rock! more

crossroads vet 3/4/2011

Nicest most competent and honest clinic I have ever dealt with. All 3 vets do an outstanding job. They fixed a major scrap job done by the South EC in Austin saving my 9 year old's life. I have taken 4 dogs there and they have always done a great job at a very reasonable price. My doberman had a chin infection and he is very nervous and bites. Dr Maynard came in the room and talked to us so calmly that he was able to pet my doberman and examine his chin with no muzzles. We live in Austin and drive out to Crossroads because nothing in Austin comes close . more

Best veterinary service in Bastrop 4/27/2009

Dr. Maynard, Dr. Hansen and the entire staff at Crossroads pulled off a surgical miracle and saved my dog from a sure death. The procedure, risks and possible consequences were all clearly explained to me. Everyone at Crossroads exhibited the highest degree of expertise in caring for animals. I recommend them to anyone needing skilled veterinary services. Pros: Skill and care for animals more

My precious dog died while being boarded at Crossroads 2/28/2009

I lost my dog who was so dear to me. He was so young and full of life and this did not have to happen. This is the truth and anyone who wishes to speak to me to verify it can feel free to email me at eburton08@yahoodotcom. If you would then like to discuss this matter on the phone I would do that. I received a call from Crossroads stating that my dog climbed 2 chain link fences, ran into traffic and was killed.First off, my precious dog was only about 25-30 lbs and about a foot and a half long.It was not possible for him to climb a tall chain link fence.Upon arrival at Crossroads, the truth came out that he actually climbed UNDER the fence, and escaped. There is a gap between the fence and the ground WHICH STILL REMAINS.Someone then admitted that I was lied to and he did indeed crawl under and run into traffic.I cannot describe how this event has affected me.If you are an animal lover too, maybe you can understand how I feel.I will never forgive these people for the loss of my pup. more

Affordable QUALITY Care for my pets. 2/26/2009

My whole family uses Crossroads Animal Hospital. We have 4 dogs and 2 cats. The staff at Crossroads is always friendly, compassionate and helpful. They always provide the very best care for all our animals (family members ...to us). The prices are very fair and they offer a Senior Citizen discount for my 72 year old mother's pets. That really helps her out. They let me ""lay-away"" my 80 pound Labradors spay procedure....Meaning I made payments ahead of time. That was the only way I could get her taken care of. Pros: Everything is always done to the highest standards. Cons: No Cons more
