I have been really pleased with the service here. They are really good about making sure you are satisfied. They call to remind you about appointments, to schedule new appointments, and to check if you are happy with their work. They also have a two week guarantee on their hair cuts so if you decide you don't like something, you can come back in to have it fixed. The owner gave me a cute and stylish hair cut. She listened to what I wanted and kept at it until it was just what I had envisioned. I then made another appointment with a new stylist who also did a good job. When it wasn't exactly how I had my hair done before, the owner put some finishing touches on it. The stylist also gave me a relaxing head massage while washing my hair. It was so nice! more

I had a Salon 7 nightmare! Shirley came to my rescue by scheduling me a same-day appointment to have my haircolor repaired. Her main concern was the health and condition of my hair. She was able to expertly repair the color disaster created by Salon 7 and I am very pleased with the outcome. My hair is the color I originally wanted it and it is so soft and manageable. I was treated as I image Shirley would treat a friend. I won't go anywhere else from now on! more

I am VERY careful who cuts my hair and/or colours my hair. Shirley is THE best. From the beginning there have been no ""oops"" or ""so sorrys."" loved this place! We went looking for feather extensions and loved what we received! They had a great selection of feather and they were so cute! We had gone somewhere else and got feathers but there were no where near the quality of what we received at Creative Colours. Defiantly go here if you need any work done. more

I was looking for a salon to have feather extensions put in my hair. When I called Creative Colours I talked to Tamara on the phone. She was so friendly and was able to get me in the same day! Her recommendations on where to put the feather extensions were wonderful and I love the result. The price was so reasonable as well. I definetely recommend going there for feather extensions. This is Tamara from Creative Colours and I take my reviews and work very seriously. It is important for people to know that my reviews are all 100% true and I have 10 years of experience and I take many next level cut and color classes regularly--> I am a good hair dresser and to compare me to Supercuts is a huge injustice and very disturbing. I cannot say why this client needed to so severely berate me publicly, for I GUARANTEE ALL OF MY WORK, AND ASKED HER AT THE TIME IF HER HAIR WAS WHAT SHE WANTED AND SHE SAID YES AND TIPPED ME $35(over 30% tip)!! If later she has lots to publicly complain about, then I would encourage her to improve her in person communication skills vs pointedly damage a hard earned quality reputation. It is true that we have a review program, but it is not in exchange for positive reviews, it is simply a system we have for our clients to share in their honest experiences and be allowed to sample a new service with us for their time= win/win. Read the details of the many reviews, clearly they are 100% genuine! A few months ago I went through a crazy period in life and I remember clearly the 'over the top' day that she refers to! The client who was 'too ash' spent the first 20+ minutes in consultation saying 'no orange, I only like ash,' and then was 'too ash,' but when she returned for her next color she said 'you were right, do it exactly the same..."" and she will admit this is just her personality, she is always unhappy with her hair at first. The cut comment was a client that always complains about something, but returns only to me for years. The brow wax is the only negative wax client I have ever had and I fully responded to her concerns (her brows were perfect she simply wanted them HUGE) by refund and on google reviews. This reviewer told me she wanted a chunky weave and after the wash she said she wanted more lighter chunks around her face. I asked her if she was happy with the rest of her color and she said she was->finished roots MATCHED EXACTLY THE COLOR SHE CAME IN WITH--> golden! While I took the extra time to add in more highlights, I could have easily toned her hair. She specifically asked for high lift blond 'chunky' highlights, which she now calls white streaks! I do modern finish dry cutting and I do an invisible layering technique that my long haired clients love, which is the cut I gave this woman, that is anything but a 'supercuts' technique. In fact, I can't even have any one else cut my own hair anymore for no one seems to be able to master this technique. So I finish here with sending in regular clients to affirm my quality and can only hope that you who are reading will consider her extreme position and use my many other positive reviews in feeling confident in choosing Creative Colours : More than a Common Salon & Spa. Okay...well...I don't normally write negative reviews but I want to try to help someone from experiencing what I just did. I learned about Tamara on this site. Her salon is very cute and I was looking forward to having my color and cut done. I moved to Tahoe recently and had put off getting color and a cut for months out of fear. Well, my worst fears came true sadly at Tamara's hands. I ended up with massive white streaks and a brassy orangy color. The cut wasn't horrible but sort of what I would expect from Supercuts. Tamara has a lot of positive reviews so I felt safe only to discover she was giving clients a $70.00 discount off of any future service (nails, massage, etc.) in exchange for writing a nice review. Needless to say I'm now skeptical about online reviews. While I was at her salon the girl in front of me complained that she hated her color and had asked for no ash (her hair was very ashy), the woman who got a haircut after me (while I was in foil) said are you mad at your boyfriend today because you cut the front of my hair so short last time while you were talking about how upset you were at him, and another woman called while I was in her chair complaining about how much she hated the eyebrows she'd just had done, leading Tamara to say I'll refund your $15. since I talked you into them. This leads me to believe her reviews are not totally honest. I needed to get my hair fixed quickly so I asked my bay area sophisticated friend (why didn't this occur to me before) who her stylist was and she told me about Angela at Faze's in South Lake Tahoe. My hair needed a lot of corrective color to go from black cherry to blonde because I had used so dark color in it on my own, but Tamara at Creative Colors did it with ease. She came up with some custom formulations for corrective color and I am extremely pleased with the result. My hair came out a perfect warm blonde and still looks super healthy. I'll definetly be going back throughout the summer for more. More than that, Tamara and the rest of the staff are so sweet and down to earth. If you want to be treated right this is the place to go. I have lived in Reno for over a year and have gone to five different salons promising to give me a great hair cut. Each one failed. Then I randomly choose Creative Colours and found my hair stylist for LIFE! Without exaggerating they have the best everything. Best stylists, best hair products, best talent with the shears, best friendly people, best place to go hang out and talk while getting customized help. The owner did my hair and let me tell you, when you need a hairstyle to fit your face, attitude, personality, and style, they can't be beat! All I can say now is you definitely get more than your money's worth with these amazing ladies! Pros: will make your hair fit you more

The staff is very friendly and skilled. The job they did on my hair color might be the best I've ever had done. The dyes are rich in color, look natural, and don't fade for a long time. I was very happy with the final product. The price, on the other hand, was pretty high. I paid about $135 ($5 + or -) for a haircut and color. When I sat in the chair, the hairstylist had lots of ideas about which colors to add, how to add them, etc. I knew this would add to the price (I was embarrassed to ask), but I was a little shocked at how expensive it was in the end. I guess my best advice is, if you're on a budget, have some chutzpah and ask how much these great ideas will cost so you won't be surprised in the end! I dont remember the name of who gave me my haircut, but she was friendly, and seemed really passionate about her job. She gave me an awesome bob not like all others that ive seen that looked so butchered.! She actually listened to what i wanted done and not just do whatever she wanted (like many hair stylists here in reno). Coming back again. Pros: Listens to what you want more

Tamara at Creative Colours has been my hairdresser for 8 + years. I have long layered haired and she is the only person I let touch it. I live in Incline Village up at the lake and I make the drive to Reno just to see her. In the 8+ years she has been styling my hair I have only let one other person cut it because I was on a trip; upon my return Tamara knew someone else had cut my hair. Tamara knows what she is doing, and she is always helpful and a joy to be with. The atmosphere at Creative Colours is always rejuvenating and I highly recommend them. My hair was a disaster!! I had a severely blotched at home dye job and some of my hair even fell out! Sadness abounds. Incredibly distraught and at a total loss with my hair I sought out help. \r \r I found my saviour in Shirley! She was SO amazing, and honest with me about my hair. This woman is a master at her craft, not only did she save my wretched do it yourself dye job she gave an incredible haircut that has limitless styling possibilities, and the really cool part about it was that she did it while my hair was dry! I had a horrible at home hair botch/crisis. Rule #1- don't dye your own hair! #2- always go to a salon (and make it Creative Colours). I went in with blondish-grey hair and orange spots. It was a disaster to say the least. Tamara and Shirley worked together and saved my hair! They were amazing hairstylists and were very patient with the messed up process of my hair. Tamara is an awesome hair dyer and excels in color correction. Great service that was WAY cheaper than what I expected. Go there, they are awesome!! :D Pros: fixed my hair and i love it! more

My daughter and I have been looking for someone who was honest about our hair and the style for us. This is harder than you think! After our visit to Creative Colours I feel that I would send anyone there for a honest assessment (the stylist talked my daughter out of cutting 14 inches off her hair) and an incredible cut.
