Homecooked Meal 4/11/2006

I cannot make a homecooked meal like what they have here. It's all drenched in butter and then deepfried to deliciousness. I particularly like going to Cracker Barrel when the weather gets cold. The service is fast and friendly. They are exactly the kind of place they advertise to be. Last time I went, I got chicken dumplings and sweet potatoes. It was good, but I did have to add pepper to get it just right. Another cool thing is that every table has a small peg puzzle game. So that can entertain you until your food arrives. more

Fun store and good food! 4/11/2006

I love going to Craker Barrell, not just for the food, but I just love to browse in the little store! There are so many unique things in there. The games I played when I was a kid. Quality clothes, interesting decorative items and lots of gift ideas. They sell candies that were around when my dad was a kid. They have the best apple cider in the restaurant and I just LOVE the hashbrown casserole. The people are always eager to help and very friendly. They have a semi-annual sale where they mark things down to 75% off and have it out on the sidewalk by the rocking chairs. I love this sale and usually do alot of gift shopping there. During Christmas they have the coolest ornaments so I always get my kids each one and put in their stockings. Its a really fun place to go! more

When the craving for deep-fried food hits.... 4/3/2006

Cracker Barrel is a good place to go to if you want a home-cooked meal but are too tired to cook it yourself. Their macaroni and cheese is amazing, and their chocolate cake is probably the best I've ever had. The only problem with this place is the same as with many "home cooking" kinds of restaurants. There really aren't any vegetarian options, nor are there many options if you or someone you're with wants something healthy. But if you're with a group of meat-eaters who want some home-cooked junk food, then this is the place! more

Cracker Barrel 3/30/2006

This is where I go when I am in the mood for comfort food. Their menu consists of foods like meat loaf, mashed potatoes, macaroni, chicken fried steak, etc. The prices are fair and you will definitely get enough food for your money. I always leave there stuffed like a pig. Another fun thing about Cracker Barrel is the store up front. They have a variety of items like candy, shirts, candles, and other little knick-knacks. It’s definitely fun to check out while waiting for your food, or after you finish dinner. Anyway, I highly recommend Cracker Barrel if you want the feeling of a nice home cooked meal. more
