Not worth it... 12/13/2002

I'll eat at McD's before I'll eat at Cracker Barrel (and after working at McD's for 5 years during college, I hardly ever eat there anymore). I've tried several locations and I'm not impressed. Between the wait to get seated, the quality of the food and the prices I will not return. I don't mind paying the $$ for quality food, but I haven't had anything worth the price there. Twice when we've gone, the bratty kids had run of the restaurant and the store -- that REALLY is a HUGE turnoff for me! Give me a Machine Shed breakfast anytime! Friendly, Surprising for a Chain 8/13/2002

This restaurant never ceases to surprise me, mainly because it's a chain but (except for the front room selling paraphenalia) never comes across as one. I have a serious weakness for breakfasts, and their Country Sampler is my favorite breakfast. It's a crying shame that they haven't opened one of these in Lawrence, because it forces me to make the thirty minute drive to Olathe for my favorite breakfast. The breakfasts aren't the only dishes that are good, however. I love the chicken and chicken fried steaks, too. more

Great Country Breakfast! 8/11/2002

This is and old time country restuarant with the best breakfast in town. They feature everything you could ever want for breakfast and you can order it all day long. An added attraction is their lobby filled with candels, crafts and specialty products you can't fine anywhere else. When my parrents come up they love to meet me there.
