COSI-Review-12:32AM-9.22.11 9/21/2011

the only things I remember were the fetuses in the jars and there not being a lot of interactive stuff. I went in late 2003.\r \r the old cosi was a lot more fun ;-( This one was whitewashed and too sterile feeling.\r \r \r yes, FETUSES IN JARS.\r \r and also at COSI in columbus,oh there's 8 jars with fetuses of various stages in a body exibit there!!! I was there in 2004 and this one woman that was pregnant and also had a baby in a stroller that was next to use started freaking out and crying... ;-( poor woman. we both thought it was very disturbing. she was scared \r those fetuses are real to and have been in those jars for 20 yrs\r \r This was the most prominient thing that I remember about this place. creepy. THAT POOR WOMAN. more

not as good as it once was but still ok 6/16/2007

Since they moved locations it seems to be more like the Nickelodeon TV channel exploded inside and less like a science museum. It still has some fun and interesting things but science takes a back seat to entertainment. As an example, the last time I was there they have now even closed the Planetarium but the IMAX is ready to go for a fee. The prices are not cheep and the special events are not so special. Gone are the days of large areas of hands on experiments. I recently went to a similar place in Miami Florida and it reminded me so much of old COSI my wife and I had a blast. However, If you have really young children, the area for them is great. more

Great Time 10/3/2006

I brought my girl scout troop here 3 years ago and they had the best time ever. They went non stop from open til close..... They had so much fun that we are going back this summer. From the theater to everything there is to see and do we didn't get to do everything because there was sooo much. We said we coud have spent two days there without a problem. more

Not just for kids 11/30/2005

This is a very impressive science museum where adults can have a good time too. There are a lot of exhibits and they are always added new ones. You could spend a whole day here! more

Not as good as the old building 11/24/2005

When COSI moved from its old location to the building it is currently housed at it garnered a lot of attention and was exciting. Since then the funding has been slashed drastically so the exhibits don't change very often and their hours of operation have shrunk too. Large exhibits that they are lucky enough to reel in cost extra to see above and beyond the regular admission price and a membership doesn't mean a thing either. It's still a nice place to go explore science, but not nearly as good or cheap as the old COSI. more

great for kids 11/8/2005

COSI is a great educational, fun place to take kids. There are a ton of different exhibits. You could spend all day here and not get to everything. It used to be better when I was a kid, but budget constraints I think have taken a toll. It is a little expensive, and make sure you check the hours they had to cut back on when they are open after a money for them was voted down. more

Great for kids! 11/7/2005

COSI (Center of Science & Industry) is a great place to bring the kids on a saturday afternoon!! Although I miss the old building, the new building is so spacious and beautiful. It's spaciousness can almost be perceived as there not being a heck of a lot to see there, but it's not quite that way. I have been in museums that you can spend a lot longer in, though. Where else can you go to see rats play basketball?? more

Mostly Fun 11/7/2005

Cosi can be an incredibly fun place to spend a day if the kids you are taking are the right age. If they are too young they can be frightened by some of the exhibits and the massive layout can be tiring if you don't bring a stroller. That being said, for kids who are a little older, it's a great place to play. Almost everything is interactive which makes for a wonderful learning experience as well as some rainy day fun! PROS: Fun, Educational CONS: HUGE! Wear your walking shoes more

Great for the kids! 9/10/2005

I have to say, that as an adult, I much prefered Cosi, before they moved to their new location. However, this one is just as good in my books. And the new Titanic exhibit is just awsome! My kids enjoy the exhibits, and aatractions, and they think they are so col when they can lift that big car all by themselves. The ticket prices and kind of high, but well worth it for a day of fun. I also enjoy the Big movie screen that is inside, however that does cost extra! more

Looking for something to do an a rainy day? 9/4/2005

This is a must-see destination for anyone with kids in Central Ohio. There is something for every age. Small children will play in the Aquatic exhibit, shooting water everywhere and building sand dams. Older kids will love the gadget cafe (no food here, only imagination and inventions.). The space exhibit is not to be missed--I challenge you to go through the entry way only once. Of course, it is all educational. Traveling exhibits are always featured, and there is an Imax screen with a revolving schedule of movies. But, we still miss the Adventure area desperately. An Indiana Jones type exploration, it had to close due to money issues. Support science in Ohio and go to COSI! PROS: Fun, Fun, Fun, You'll never know it's Educational. CONS: The Adventure exhibit is no more... more

Fun place to take kids...too bad the prices are so high 9/2/2005

COSI is a great place to take people of all ages. The exhibits have something for everyone. It's always a fun place for kids to go on a field trip, but I've found that I even enjoy going as an adult. Since moving to the new location on West Broad St., COSI has going through some growing pains. They've raised prices, and started seperating admission (i.e. charging admission multiple times depending on the exhibits you want to see). In my opinion, the move has not been a positive change for COSI. While it is still a great place to visit, I do not go as often. more

Kidspace is totally awesome for the small set 6/9/2005

We have a 2 year old and a baby and both of them LOVE COSI. My 2 year old is generally shy and reserved and she runs off exploring the whole Kidspace area (good thing they have the door guarded). They have big blocks to build forts with, water tables, stuffed (fake) food, a play structure, a big birds nest, a ball pit, and much more. We have a pass and go to COSI once every couple weeks and the kids don't get tired of it. Tip: park at the meters on the street. Although it's more of a walk, it's a lot cheaper than the parking lot. PROS: Too numerous to name CONS: Hard to get the kids to leave more

Fun Museum but could be better 4/26/2005

The Center Of Science and Industry (COSI) is a hands on science museum in Columbus. They have a number of exhibits with new rotating exhibits every few months. The museum has plenty to fill several hours for an entire family, however the exhibits leave a bit to be desired. There are several areas of the museum that do not offer much learning, but instead are purely for entertainment. The show's are great, especially for children as they explain scientific principles using everyday examples. The price to get in the museum is comparable to other museums ($12 for adults), and you can apply your days entrance towards an annual membership if you like what you see. It's best not to wait until closing to leave if you can avoid it, because the parking lot is really hard to get out of when more than a few cars are exiting. PROS: Educational, Family Friendly, Entertaining, Fun CONS: Paid Parking more

must do 1/15/2003

I brought my 7 yr old and we had a blast. The only thing is you need to plan for more than a couple of hours. It is a great time and we didn't get to see everything. Can't wait to go back with more time to explore and do the things over again we already did. more

great attraction 8/2/2002

This is a great attraction and I'd recommend planning to spend the entire day here. A few hours won't cut it. I took my Brownie Troop here and my family too. My favorite was Adventure--it's a chance to be Indiana Jones without the danger but with the right amount of action and suspense. The large screen movie was outta sight too. Pros: wonders never cease, entertaining Cons: expensive, parking should be fre more

COSI ROCKS!!!!! 7/19/2002

Cosi had an outsatnding Safety Services Department. Officers were very polite and extremely knowledgeable about Cosi and the surrounding area. They also patrol Cosi and the immediate riverfront area to make sure guests and Cosi staff are safe 24 hours a day 7 days a week! Learning was awesome through all of the exhibition areas. It was awesome. Pros: Excellent Security, Good Service, Educational Cons: Mean Parking People, More Hands On, Cafe to much $$$$ more
