Corky's

I've been sampling catfish for along time at various restaurants and had settled on a couple local eateries to fulfill my delicate pallet. I've visited Corky's before because of their World famous ribs, but never thought to try their catfish until a friend of mind raved about it. Wow!!!, I was in catfish heaven. With the dinner I got 5 crispy fillets perfectly seasoned along with fries and cole slaw. Corky's cole slaw had a little too much celery seed for my liking, but was able to exchange it for fried okra a southern specialty. My total for this southern fare and drink was under $10. before tax. So if your ever looking for a good place for catfish let me recommend Corky's Ribs BBQ (and Catfish) more

While visiting NLR recently I visited the Lakewood restraunt to try Memphis style ribs and was extremely disappointed. I was seated at a booth freshly cleaned with some noxious liquid. After I dried the table, most of the odor was eliminated. Ordered ribs, waitress asked if I wanted wet or dry or both; I said both along with beans and mac-n-cheese as sides. Bread arrived first then ribs. The bread was stale and tasteless, no butter. Wet ribs were barely edible but the dry were awful. The dry side was caked with this nasty salty concoction, no recognizable flavor other than SALT. I scraped most of the heavy salt concoction off and tasted the naked rib, absolutely tasteless except for salt. The sides were a joke, tiny portions with very little flavor. Not a good experience and defiinitely wouldn't return or recommend. more
