Boston's second oldest hotel offers some charm that you can't find in newer, chain hotels. The beds are not nearly as comfy as they could be, but thi more

Beautifully renovated room, quite and comfortable. Free wine tasting from 5-6 pm every evening in the stylish lounge near lobby. The hotel location is great: two blocks to either orange or green line metro and lots of shopping (trendy Newbury street !) and excellent restaurants nearby. Pros: hospitable and attentive staff more

I often stayed at the Copley Square Hotel when I would have a meet at Northwestern, and it is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff is professional and friendly, and the rooms are immaculately clean. It's a little bit pricey, but totally worth the extra money for what you are getting. more

Do not stay on a weekend! 9/3/2007

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at the Copley Square Hotel for a romantic weekend. What they don't tell you is that there is a night club in the basement of the hotel. We were on the second floor and could clearly hear the music. When we called to complain they said they would ask them to turn it down and they did a little but we could still hear it. By the 3rd night, we asked to be moved. We were told people complain all of the time but management doesn't care because the club is paying them so much money. We were then moved to the 7th floor in a much smaller room. They staff on hand was very honest and happy to help us move, but by then it was too little, too late. more

Good Value 5/5/2003

The Copley Square Hotel is a small and old building, so it does not have the same offerings as a newer and lager hotel. At the same time, the rooms are clean and cheary and best of all, about $100 cheaper than rooms across the streat at the Westin and Marriott. Pros: Good Value, Good Location, Quiet more

Disappointed 2/16/2003

My partner and I were VERY disappointed. The room was small and the bathroom was cramped. We wanted to participate in the "Conserve Water" program; however, we received clean towels the second morning and our hand towels were taken away and not replaced. The wall paper was old, yellowing, and peeling. The bedspread was dirty and stained. The hotel promotes itself as almost victorian, with each room distinct from the next. In the first room we saw, the lamp shade and dust ruffle were ripped. Upon requesting another room, the desk clerk accused us of not having chosen an expensive enough room, which would have met higher standards. I was apalled and will never return. more

  • As the Copley Square Hotel’s on-site location for dining guests, Xhale is a multi-purpose lounge and restaurant decked out in reds and greys, with multiple seating arrangements: sprawling banquettes, chairs huddled around knee-high tables, a tall chef’s table surrounded by several stools. The restaurant’s kitchen isn’t open for lunch, and instead bookends the day with full or continental breakfast and casual dinner choices--from a signature burger to New England-style baked cod topped with Ritz cracker crumbs. As its loungey ambiance and scattered cushions suggest, Xhale is also a plush, playful spot for mingling over drinks and small plates.
