I had Dr. Lawrence Stubbs and he did a filling and a crown on me. Both times, I felt him drilling. I told him I could feel it and he would say "That shouldn't be. I'm only drilling on the outside of your tooth." So then, I felt like an idiot complaining, but it DID hurt! Because of this doctor, I developed a fear of dentists. It wasn't until I switched dentists, finally found someone who could get me completely numb, that I realized this dentist was either incapable or just unwilling to make me feel comfortable.
