i was booked with George. i arrived on time for my appointment. i waited an hour and a half before he saw me,and even though i waited patiently he rushed through all my services. I brought pictures of the new cut and color that i finally got the nerve to do, he gave me a consultation and with the pictures i brought i thought we were on the same page but he didnt do anything close to the cut or the color that we had agreed on. My hair was over texturized, and i wanted alot of blonde highlights but he added a low light that i made clear that i did not want. During my whole visit to Colorlocks George was pushing hair care products on me for me to buy(very aggresivley). I told him that my husband was currently unemployed an that i was on a budget so that i would not be purchasing anything during this appointment and that i had some salon quality products at home such as Redken,Matrix, and Wella. He then told me that "what i was using was crap" and that i really needed to buy what he was suggesting. I reminded him of my budget but he kept enforcing that I should purchase products from Colorlocks. I started to feel very uncompfortable and uneasy and was ready to leave but my appointment took over 3 hours. I have short, thin hair, and have never been at a salon for that long. George kept making sexual comments to me and flirting with me. I continuously talked about how happily married I am to try to hint to him to stop but he pressed on. He was very rough with me and when I asked him to be a bit more gentle on my hair he said "come on,u know u like it rough" and gave my hair a tug. Finally when i was finished getting my hair done and went upfront to pay I noticed that the male receptionist behind the desk was watching pornographic movies on his cell phone. I was shocked, but more shocked that George (the owner) saw the receptionists unappropriate behavior and made a joke about his conduct with him. Then I was told that my bill was $220. I have short thin hair and just wanted a Highlight and haircut, normally at other salons I pay between $100-$125. I wouldnt have minded paying that price had I been happy with my final hair results. I still saw my gray hairs and I still had dark roots, and since he added the low light that I didnt want or ask for but still had to pay for, my hair was not as blond as I stressed that i wanted it to be, nor did it look anything close to the picture I had brought in. And once again as i reluctantly paid the huge bill George was placing shampoo, conditioner, and a hairspray on the desk for me to purchase. I left Colorlocks almost in tears because of how overbearing, cocky, arrogant, and unprofessional that George was. And to top it off i had to go spend another $75 at my regular salon to have my hair re-done. I will not return to Colorlocks again.
Pros: good location
Cons: stylist was very insulting
