Great food, fun place, great service 8/16/2010

It was our first time having fondue and we loved it. We had their ""Beginner"" (ski slope rating style) package with salad, cheese fondue, and chocolate fondue. All of these were a pleasure to the palate. Their selection of microbrew beers was also good, with many that you don't see much around here. The theming is mountain lodge. It felt like stepping out of Florida and into the Rockies (well done, with the name). The servers were attentive and friendly. We're looking forward to our next visit. more

Excellent! 2/13/2010

We have gone to Colorado Fondue for years. We feel they have the best fondue and the best fondue experience in the area. Also, the price is more reasonable than the other local fondue restaurant. We always order the ""Dinner for Two"" and add one more serving for our daughter. They allow you some flexibility in the ordering of this meal, for example, you can ask for double chicken instead of pork, etc. They bring out a hot rock (or more, depending on the size of your party) for cooking the food, and a pot of boullion for the vegetables. Once the hot rock cools down, they bring out new ones. This is much healthier than cooking in oil, and it's also faster, in my opinion. Our favorite dessert fondue is the White Chocolate Amaretto. The dessert comes with plenty of food and more chocolate than can be consumed in one sitting. Someone else mentioned being able to take the chocolate home, I haven't tried that before but will next time! We live about 45 minutes away from Colorado Fondue, but still trek out there for special occasions, even though the other fondue place is within a 10 minute drive from our house. We recommend this restaurant to everyone! Pros: hot rocks instead of just oil or boullion Cons: We don't live closer more

FUNDUE 12/12/2008

We have been several times and love the atmosphere that CF provides for dates. We have never been dissatisfied with our food. Pros: A great meal for face to face time on a date Cons: Reservations on a weekend are a MUST more

sterno fondue, inadequate cooking methods, horrible value and this was at Prime Time! 8/24/2008

Colorado Fondue has a reputation for being ""almost"" as good as The Melting ?.. My experience was not even close to other dining experiences with Fondue. Let me start by saying the decor is nice, and a private room is available. The Hostess was standard and welcoming. The trouble with CF is the method of cooking, the quantity of food, and the health requirements that can be easily violated. Don't make the mistake of comparing this fondue to any other, this is not fondue. Beef, seafood, and chicken are ""cooked"" on a hot stone tablet brought to the table. This cooking process cannot possibly cook all of the food that you are given. By the time we were half through the tablet was not even sizzling water!, the waiter was no where to be found, and it seemed as if the entire wait staff was swamped on a Saturday night at 6 pm. Our waiter spitted out the directions as mumbling and rushiong through the entire learning curve of the hot rock cooking style. They bring a stockpot of chicken broth to cook beggies, pasta, and a pierogie in? What is this? Who dreamed up this concept? The rock for cooking is 6x6 inches. Try cooking on a pan that size one entire meal. It's a joke. The cheese appetizer fondue was tasty but about 1/2 of the portion of Melting ?. It is also not prepared at your table. It is placed on a can of sterno. Certainly not what you expect for a 50 dinner and 15 dollar dessert and a add on side of lobster. I love Sushi but not at a fondue restaurant for a special occasion. Next time for Fondue the odds on favorite will get my dollars. We can't comment on the dessert as we we're afraid we had consumed raw meats and went home to have stomach distress! I also had to go home because the one men's restroom had one toilet! How can that be legal? This restaurant appears to seat at least 80 people. Next time I will know better. Total bill was $78.00 no alcohol and no dessert! Cons: cooking methods, food quantity, lack of toilets, fear of uncooked foods, value more

Best fondue in town 9/1/2007

I've been to both the MeltingPot and Colorado Fondue, and I have to say I much prefer Colorado Fondue. The service is better, the atmosphere is much more relaxed (I think The MeltingPot is too stuffy and formal to really enjoy yourself), and the food is delicious. I've been at least a dozen times over the past decade or so, and I've always had a good meal. Don't be afraid to ask for a new hot rock while you're eating your entree. While every course is worth trying, definitely save room for desert. And make reservations! more

Our favorite by far 7/30/2007

For years, this has been our ""destination"" restaurant for birthdays and other celebrations. I recommend it to anyone seeking delicious food in a great atmosphere, served by prompt and courteous wait staff. Pros: High-quality ingredients, you control your dinner, great cheese and chocolate Cons: I wouldn't dine here with kids. more

Best service we've had in years! 1/27/2006

I landed in Colorado Fondue Company one night, after trying to get a spot in Melting Pot and being told that the waiting time was ridiculously long. I called ahead of time, was able to get accomodated within reason and had one of the loveliest dining experiences with my wife and my 2-year old kid with the best service we've had in years. Highly recommendable. more

My Favorite place to eat 8/26/2005

The food is not only great, but far healthier than other fondue chains. The ambiance is casual yet elegant. I thoroughly enjoy the hot rock because cooking is slow and is more of an event than just eating out. The broth instead of oil is not only healthy but adds just the right accent to all their dishes. There's enough oil in our fast food to satisfy anyone's craving, if thats what they are looking for. Service is friendly and informative. Prices are very reasonable, and my suggestion is Fondue for Two!!! Pros: inexpensive, good food, healthy more

Not actually fondue. Not my choice. 11/10/2004

The interior is charming with a western theme and Christmas lights year-round, but the food served is not actually fondue. You can't get a pot full of hot oil in which too cook your food. You instead get a pot of warm broth which cools much faster than oil and doesn't do the job. You also get hot pieces of granite which also cool too quickly to cook well, and to which your food easily and irritatingly sticks. This then takes the joy of fondue cooking away and makes it work. The original fondue restaurant is Geja's in Chicago and this far pales by comparison. Not even the same type. Pros: dipping sauces, dessert, ambience Cons: , no hot oil, odd combinations more
