Worst

This bakery used to be THE place for breads and sweets. Now, they just don't have the knack. Bought their "Fresh" Black Russian Bread for a special party... even special ordered...

stale bread 8/27/2010

bad..you get the impression they are in Russia pushing off stale bread to people they assume aren't as smart as they are..to recognize it...quarter loaf hard as a rock even though sliced....refused to slice whole loaf because it was "too soft"..yet you could use it to hammer fence posts place was filthy also dust on packaged materials, bottles and shelving. Used to be the place once for bread, tec. more

Not as Good as the old days 11/22/2008

This bakery used to be THE place for breads and sweets. Now, they just don't have the knack. Bought their "Fresh" Black Russian Bread for a special party... even special ordered it in advance to make sure it was fresh. When I served it, the first bite told me it had been frozen... So much for Special! more

Fantastic breads 8/18/2005

For delicious brick-oven bread and other tempting treats such as donuts and pastries, Colchester Bakery is the best for miles around. My husband is crazy about their bread, especially the marble rye and the Russian pumpernickel. I'm a sugar addict and love their donuts and pastries. It's well worth a drive to try them out. more
