Back on the map! 8/6/2011

I haven't put any reviews on Citysearch in a long time, but this warrants writing one! I moved to Birmingham two years ago and my job is taking me back to Nashville, thank goodness! Shopping and going to great restaurants are my favorite things to do and B'ham has always beat Nashville in those arenas, so it was fun living there, but Nashville has finally arrived with Nordstrom, etc. opening and I'm ready to get back. Coco used to be my go to store, but it had changed a lot by the time I left, so I really didn't shop there anymore because it had honestly gotten very matronly with the same old stuff. I was in town for a sales meeting last week and decided to stop in because the sign out front said they were having a huge sale. Boy, was I in for a surprise! Not only are they transforming it into a beautiful new store, they now carry some of my favorite lines and was told there are many more on the way. It will be awesome to have a Nordstrom with all it has to offer, but at the end of the day it's still a big department store and I loved the fact that Pam was so excited to see me and still rememberd everything I had bought and I hadn't seen her in two years! more

A Nashville Institution! (that only gets better with age) 7/13/2011

It's not hard to believe that Coco has been around Nashville for over 30 years, serving up the finest fashion, accessories, and service to the city's most stylish women. I'll admit it...the store hit a rough patch for a few years, and didn't seem to know who its customer was-- but who doesn't hit a snag every once in a while? Coco is clearly back with full force, in every aspect. It still has the same wonderful service--if you don't know who to ask for, Rachel or Pam are both surefire choices. Both know their customers inside and out, and possess the rare ability to instinctively know exactly what their customers want, as well as exactly what their wardrobe needs. That said, the service is never pushy. With lines like Joie, Elie Tahari, Joe's Jeans, Max Mara, Missoni (and I've heard through a fairly reliable grapevine that ADAM, Citizens of Humanity, Barbour, Hunter Boots, and several more great ""staple"" lines are coming this fall...FINALLY!!), Coco is able to service customers from age 19 to 90. I stopped in the other day, and they are about to begin a massive renovation of the store that will be completed by late August (store is remaining open throughout...I wonder if that means good sales?!). I can only imagine how beautiful it will be! If you're in the Belle-Meade/West-Meade/Vanderbilt area, definitely make Coco one of your stops. You won't be disappointed! more

WHAT a transformation! 6/2/2011

Visited Coco the other day; having just returned to Nashville after moving away for four years, I didn't know what changes to expect in my hometown and its stores! Well, I have been more than pleasantly surprised across the board, and Coco is no exception. Walking in, I was greeted by a rack that was overflowing with amazing Missoni scarves--don't know when we got those in Tennessee!-- and a rack filled with some fabulous Alexis Bittar jewelry, another one of my favorites. They have picked up a number of newer, more ""bridge"" lines, that complement their finer things well--off the top of my head, Joie (which is one of my all-time favorites), Max Mara Weekend, Joe's Jeans, and some great cashmere lines. What a wonderful Nashville institution-- there is something for every woman, from the age of 18 to 88, without the slightest feeling of being junky or overdone. It almost has the feeling of being a tiny little gem of a department store! (minus the haughty salespeople)The service is exceptional; the women who work at Coco know their customers as well as the lines that they sell--and are always thrilled to meet and help the random walk-in. Keep up the great work, Coco...I will definitely be back soon! more

Best Professional Shopping 7/2/2007

For my work needs, Coco is what I needed. I moved here from NYC and have been disappointed with the Nashville shopping scene. Coco is one of the lone exceptions to the rule. Very classy. more

Perfection 10/15/2003

Why didn't I come here first when I needed an interview suit? I believe I visited 20 other local shops for this one thing I needed. As soon as I walked into Coco, my eyes zoomed to the racks of professional attire. I needed alterations, but the in-house tailor was backed up. The extremely helpful sales lady personally contacted another tailor while I was in the store before I bought my suit. The tailor agreed to make my job a priority. My alterations were completed within 24 hours of buying the suit. Pros: great quality, great selection, great service more
