Like Eating Seafood at Arties 6/28/2006

This restaurant is owned by Mike's American restuarants so the food tastes like the other restaurants in the chain (Arties, Silverado, Carlyle, etc) but emphasizes more on the seafood. The food is good, salads are amazing, strawberry shortcake is excellent, and service is good. Service is done in a team apprpoach which allows for more servers to one table. Call ahead of time. I dinged them though for the loud atmosphere. more

Coastal Flats for Dinner 9/1/2005

I've been to dinner twice to and for a few drinks at the new Coastal Flats in Fairfax. The dinner & drinks were great, a little on the pricey side. But I haven't had a bad meal. I have noticed the line ups for a table on the weekends can be a bit much. I called ahead the last time at 5:30 p.m. on a Friday night and I was able to walk in for my table at 6:30 p.m. The lady on the phone was helpful and told me what time to exactly show up for my table. I over heard the wait times were upto a few hours when I arrived for my table. The area can get crowded on the weekends, I recommend calling ahead and enjoy the food without the long wait. I recommend the lobster sandwich. more

Great Restaurant for Seafood 8/18/2005

We tried this restaurant out the other night b/c it is owned by the same people that run Sweetwater (one of our favorites). The food we ordered was very good and they have the same rolls that they serve at their other restaurants. The service was excellent and special plates were made up for our children b/c they wouldn't try anything on the menu that night. The prices were reasonable for the food and service provided. The atmosphere was very nice in the restaurant - and the call ahead seating provided us with very little waiting once we arrived. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. more
