A NY blessing. So appreciated. Tours are great. Have seen many interesting, wonderful lectures, performances, concerts. Arlene Mehlman

Worst

we are an organization that has inexpensive but not free events. We are desperately trying to get off their listings. People are very angry when they are then asked to pay.

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/11/2013

I had been a member of Club FreeTime almost from its inception but didn't use it very often until I retired recently. I found the list of offerings to very weak and complained about it to the owner, Natella Vaidman. After exchanging a few emails on this topic she summarily cancelled my membership, something which I was about to do anyway. Apparently Ms. Vaitman does not take criticism well.\r \r I pointed out to her that while it was in existence Norman Seaman's Concert Theater Club used to offer an excellent list of free events, including quality off-Broadway and occasionally Broadway plays, concerts at Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall (in the main auditorium as well as the recital hall). You won't find anything like that at Club FreeTime. Attending an event for free (actually $4.50, the club's ""Service Fee"") is no bargain if it turns out to be a disappointing waste of time. more

What an incredible find! 1/5/2011

I've been living in New York for a good number of years and never heard of Club Free Time until recently when I said to a friend I that I'd like to do something off the beaten path for the New Year. ""Oh, look for things to do on club freetime"" she said. And so I did and the site turned out to be AWESOME! For my ""off the beaten path New Year"" I went to an amazing free concert which ended with drums welcoming the New Year at midnight; then to a free Flatiron District Walking Tour on Jan 1st; then got a pair of complimentary tickets to an off-Broadway show (you have to pay a reservation fee, which is still lower than the one you would've paid if you ordered the tickets at full price of $55); and now I am trying to see if I am adventurous enough to go on a bike ride of Central Park at 10 pm this coming Friday and to a contemporary classical music concert two weeks from now. I just wish somebody had told me about this Club Free Time a long time ago.... more

An absolute waste of money! 1/23/2010

There is nothing special here. Not only are the events boring, weak and the lowest quality in the city, the ticket process is a nightmare. \r \r Your confirmations are never received in time for the event and when you notify them of this they reprimand you for not telling them asap. \r \r A sense of major responsibility on the part of the customer here. I am an event planner in NYC for a high profile actor and someone suggested I check out Club Freetime to see if it was worth the money. I was a member for three weeks and would pay them another $20 just to never hear from them again.\r \r Stay away from this - it's a major rip off! Pros: Never found one! Cons: Crap events, poor administrative service and rude publisher more
