I had been a member of Club FreeTime almost from its inception but didn't use it very often until I retired recently. I found the list of offerings to very weak and complained about it to the owner, Natella Vaidman. After exchanging a few emails on this topic she summarily cancelled my membership, something which I was about to do anyway. Apparently Ms. Vaitman does not take criticism well.\r

I pointed out to her that while it was in existence Norman Seaman's Concert Theater Club used to offer an excellent list of free events, including quality off-Broadway and occasionally Broadway plays, concerts at Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall (in the main auditorium as well as the recital hall). You won't find anything like that at Club FreeTime. Attending an event for free (actually $4.50, the club's ""Service Fee"") is no bargain if it turns out to be a disappointing waste of time.
