Coming Back! 12/23/2008

Club Axis was very poorly run towards the end of its days. I am thinking about bringing the club back. If anyone hasn't heard the club had a lien put against it a few years ago. Just recently it under went some fire damage. Just to give everyone a heads up I am thinking of either bringing Axis back to the original location, or even finding a better one. Still carrying all the same action packed nights as the original Axis. Bringing back an amazing staff that can provide the highest qualities services in the most professional manners. Catering to the clientel is what makes a club a club. Stay posted and spread the word. Pros: Everything you can imagine. PARADISE in the club life! Cons: That its not opened yet! more

Club Axis closed down a few years ago --- but if you were into the loud music, intense dancing, beautiful people, and a helluva good time..... This was the place. Pros: great people, great dancing atmosphere, loud and abnoxious Cons: long lines, it closed down more

Fun club 2/9/2004

since the remoldeling of axis, the club is impressive. The crowd is very mixed in age and race, so there isnt anything you cant find there. The sound sysytem and dance floors are great! Its crowded, but when is that bad? Id rather not go to an empty club. Ive had a fun time every time Ive been there. Pros: parking VIP , drink specials, great live bands more

I dont get some of you people, one person says the bouncers are jerks and they will have to close soon but they are packed every night i go there, so i dont see that happening. Also everyone says its crowded...why is this bad? I dont know a whole lot of people who like to be dancing by themselves. The crowded dance floor at axis gives you loads of hot woman to choose from. Axis is probably the best place to go if you are are looking for some fun boys on a Friday night. Definetly the only place to be for gay boys on a Friday night. But it really is the ONLY place for gay boys to go. PLEASE Salt Lake City, find us a new place to go! more

Get a clue... 11/2/2002

The bouncers at Axis really need to brush up on current laws. It is a FEDERAL LAW to ASK permission to frisk someone. Everytime I have been to Axis, I get groped by the rude bouncers without prior consent. Also, your music in the front bar needs to change to a more relaxed vibe that encourages casual conversation. Listening to hip hop all night in the front bar when you play it the side area is overkill and annoying at best. But then again, this is Utah and Top 40 and hip hop rule clubland. At least the main dance floor, while too dark, plays good house music. Pros: Nice Decor Cons: Arrogant crowd, Weak Drinks, Rude Bouncers more

Can still be an ok club at times, but lately the high school, teeny-bopper/bubblegum crowd has taken over. If you're in your 20s or if you're a really "mature" 18 or 19 year old, this place isn't great. more

Too Smoky 10/8/2002

Definitely not the place for clean air. You can barely even see anything once you walk into the door because of all the smoke. This place might work for a bunch of tiny bopper high schoolers but not if your in your 20's and looking for a good dancing atmosphere. This is more like Marilyn Manson's side house! i love dancing! and i thougth just barely being 18 that i would go to axis well it sux its way to crowded and it smells sooo bad i couldnt belive it! i was expecting it to be way awesome cause thats what i have heard from friends but honestly i would rather go back to club omni then to axis ever again! the music was awesome and dancing was way fun but the guys are to grabby and its to crowded that you can barely move or breath! i was expecting better! New Management-Terrible 7/7/2002

Used to be cool- last summer was cool, awsome visiting djs almost every thursday, now on a thurday-club latino-what up with that. and wednesday nights way to crowded and lame. ALL I got to say is that whomever was the owner in 2001 summer needs to come back because that was when axis used to be halfway cool. and one other thing i dont think this place knows what a ventalation system is, cause if you go to axis your gonna leave smelling like axis(smoke) and sweaty Pros: Great Lights, Great Sound Cons: ventalation, owner, service more

Obnoxious 6/3/2002

I moved to the Northgate Apartments about a month ago. As I was moving in, I saw a non-descript white building across the street. I thought it was a vacant warehouse, a sweatshop, a bordello, or maybe an annex to the overcrowded homeless shelter, which is just around the corner. That night, I saw a bunch of 14-year-old teeny-bopping crumpets crowding around the entrance. At 2 a.m., I was awakened by people screaming and motorcycles revving and racing up and down 500 West. I later found out the source of this commotion was SLC's trendiest club, Club Axis. I logged on to CitySearch to see what I could find out about this place: reviews by people who can't write, or even spell. Maybe you folks should spend less time taking drugs and grinding your special parts to music (I use the term loosely), and spend more time in school. more

    A hovering disco ball is the centerpiece of the large main dance floor, which is surrounded by a raised walkway, and a bar is set up on one side so you can refresh yourself throughout the evening. The club is divided into several areas: Annex 2000 has no alcohol and no age restrictions every night except Saturday, while the older crowd gathers in the Grand Ballroom to dance and drink. For those who like their music pumping and their vibe cool, slide over to the Video Chill Lounge. Friday is Gay Night and Saturday's spin is Big City House.
