Editorial review from Citysearch 2/8/2013

I purchased an Amana refer and Bosch DW from them 9 years ago for half of the new price. They had some dings on the stainless steel fronts, but this was OK by me. Both items are still going strong, with no problems so far. The DW was missing a kickplate, which they never came through with. I ordered one from a parts store, so don't expect a high level of service. But for the price, I am well pleased. I will use them again. more

The best appliance prices in the state! 5/10/2011

I shopped many stores in the area, from big box other stores claiming to be discount stores...City Discount Appliance is hands down the best! Best prices and very helpful staff. They sell both new and reconitioned appliances and the selection is really good. You also just can't get the high level of service they offer anywhere else. Best kept secret around! I have rental properties and they have saved me thousands of dollars this year alone! more

Best service around! 3/24/2011

My wife and I were in need of a freezer for the garage and a friend told us about City Discount Appliance and the good experience he had there recently. We went in on a sunday and found a really clean freezer that was the perfect size and they had it on sale, but the sale price was the most we could spend and we still needed delivery as we don't have a truck. They said they would deliver it for free for us. The regular delivery guy was still out on a delivery during the time frame they gave us. So the owner of City Discount Appliance delivered the freezer to us himself and in his own personal pick up truck. (NOW THAT'S SERVICE!) Service like that is un-heard of anymore. If you want a nice clean appliance at a great price, and a staff that goes above and beyond, than this is the place for you. more

These guys are cool 2/13/2011

We just bought our first home and were in need of a washer/dryer and a fridge, range and microwave. these guys had it all, and best of all they made me a ""package deal"" saved thousands over buying new, and saved us hundreds over the marked prices on the products in the store because we purchased more than one item. The store manager, Dusty was calm and cool. And boy, did this guy know his stuff, you could tell he's been in the appliance business for many years. What more could you ask for, someone with that kind of know how and the no pressure presentation, it was a pleasure working with them. Thanks Guy's more

Great washer and dryer selection! One happy girl!!!!!! 2/10/2011

I just bought a front loader pair from this place and it is awesome! I saved over $850 on an almost new Whirlpool front loader energy star washer and dryer... I love the way they look and clean and am looking forward to saving on my utility bills because the washer zooms super fast in the spin cycle! The day I came in they had just received a giant shipment of 200 washer/dryers and the sales person took me in the back and showed me a gorgeous Whirlpool front load set which I purchased..... Anyway, I love this place!! Great bargains on on appliances! more

These people are down to earth and a pleasure to deal with! 1/20/2011

I had an experience today I just had to share! My washing machine had been acting up si I called City Discount Appliance on 104th and Sandy because I drive by there all the time and see appliances in the window. Sure enough the gentleman (manager named Dusty informed me that they do repair on machines as well as sales. I decided to bring my machine in that another company had given me an estimate for $280 to repair. To my astonishment the folks at City Discount took it in and called me an hour later to tell me the machine was ready to go, FIXED and I would owe them a nominal $10 fee for ""agitater dogs"" that needed replacement. That was it!!!!! Honest people, so rare to find these days!!! Thank you Dusty, and your crew at City Discount Appliance! more

DO NOT BUY ANY APPLIANCES FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!! 11/16/2010

Went to purchase a washer n dryer front load....n 3month later the washing machine had a minor problem...n all i wanted them to come out to find out the problem...Dusty the manager (mind u he told me) that he wasnt the owner when i purchased them both...was so rude to me and wouldnt help me out nor did he send someone over!.WE made 2 attemps for appointments but never showed up...money wasnt the factor i was going to pay what i needed, just wanted it done... In not only that i sent his company 2 customers and the same thing happened them....please he does bad business n POOR customer service....I REPORTED him to BBB more

Don't ever shop there 5/7/2010

Had the worst phone experience ever with them. Called Seattle store and found out they sold the Portland on to someone else. That could explain the change. Plenty of places to shop so chose someplace else Cons: Rude Emloyees more

They never showed up 7/21/2009

I would love to give these guys a review on their work, but they have yet to show up. The first appoinment they cancelled because they got behind. The second appoinment they were 30 minutes late (not a big deal) but then they couldn't do the job because they were not properly equipped even though I had advised them of exactly what needed to be fixed. \r The THIRD appointment, well they are 3 hours late and haven't called or returned any of my calls. \r Guess it's time to look elsewhere.\r Pros: Cheap Cons: Commuication stinks more

Service = EPIC Fail. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! 7/12/2009

Bought a used washer and dryer. The thing did not work properly from day 1. Dryer is LOUD and the hot water does not come into the washer (likely a faulty valve or something... Talking with the ""service"" department was just a lot of phone calls from me to them and rarely a return call to actually make an appointment. WASTE of money. I am just going to nurse this set along for a few months and will buy a new set somewhere else and have this set hauled off for free, as I am not sure I would want these people in my house ANYWAY. If I could issue ""0"" stars - i would! Pros: None. BEWARE! Cons: Customer service 101 is non existent. more

confrontational and unproffesional 9/8/2007

I purchased a used washer and dryer from this place and after the 90 day warranty expired, my washing machine stopped draining. I called and was told I would need to call the ""tech department"" and was not givin a number, so I called the second number listed (not in the yellow pages, but in the freakin newspaper ad) and was greeted (if you can call it that) by a man asking what I needed. \r I asked if this was the appliance tech department and he just kept asking what I needed. "" I need the tech department"" , he says again "" what do you need?"" and ""how did you get this number?"" "" I got this number out of the newspaper ad you ran."" he says again ""what do you need?""\r ""is this the appliance center? ""\r The man on the phone says "" I am the owner, what do you need?"" .\r Believing that I have just answered this question one too many times, I elaborate stating I have spent 400-500 dollars at his establishment and need the tech department because my washing machine is not working and why is he being so rude to someone that has not only been a customer, but spent a substantial amount of money on his wares. ""Do you want to schedule a service tech?"" he says in an agitated tone.\r In the end he made an unproffesional and lazy attempt at scheduling a repair, which I refused and called ""Standard T.V. and appliance"" and was given courteous and professional attention to my problem. \r These people might as well be selling appliances at the flea market ""as is"" \r Sorry Discount Appliance Connection, in the modern world you cannot treat customers poorly it will come back and bite you in the *** Pros: saving fifty bucks maybe Cons: frustration and spending fifty bucks to fix the problem. more
