Best

On Cipriani I am only going to say one thing : A real piece of Italy people save some money and go eat there because Real Italian style doesn't get any better then this

Worst

Nothing is worse than paid so much for such a horrible service where the waiter is almost forcing you to order when you want to sit/relax/have a glass of a f* expensive wine - no,...

Take your money else where. 11/15/2005

I don't mind paying for a meal at a fancy/name brand restaurant, as long as the food is decent and the service is good......I was visiting home in NY for about 12 days and this was the only chance I had to have a nice dinner in the City. Should have just picked a diner to eat at. You can not believe how disapointed I was. Food was average, price was high, service, terrible, a big minus. Take your money else where!!! more

Without the big stars-cipriani is nothing 10/30/2005

The food portion was way too small and it was below average, i expected much more of this well talked about restaurant. The staff are well trained to keep the drink coming, in fact i am shock that my girlfriend and i were able to get up from our table, i had to tell the waiter to stop asking me if i want to drink more. If you want to see someone a big star thenCipriani is the place for you...please note it's going to cost you a pretty $300.00 for two. How yeah, look rich...if not, well just use your imagination! :( I wouldn't feel right recommending it. Pros: Location, Meeting "movie stars" Cons: Over price, no space to move..!!, baby portions more

if you love rude jerks 10/15/2005

this is heaven! and if you are hungry just around the block are a few pet stores so go get yourself a can and open it up and dig right in, you'll have a better dining experience. more

Food smells like sweat! 8/5/2005

and it tastes like bland water squeezed from pajamas. The waiters had lots of greasy stains on their white jackets and that went well with the matching stains on the table clothes. The crowd was soo super cool that you needed to have mennen speed stick constantly applied to your head! Soooo many billionaires and rap stars and super models that I thought I was at a walmart parkin lot on a sunday mornin! more

USED to be cool 7/24/2005

The last time I went to Cipriani I sat next to a table of midwestern tourists in shorts and flip-flops blabbering about how they heard Britney Spears and Roseanne Barr love this place. You're better off peeling off a manhole cover nearby and eating out of the sewer, thrusting fistfuls of poo down your throat. PS ask for Maurizio if you want a laugh. more

One of NYC's Worst Dining experiences 7/22/2005

The only reason to go here is to get upset. The staff stinks and are worse than wanna be actors in LA working as waiters. The food is bad and that is IF you ever get it. Don't worry they'll push expensive and watered down drinks on you . The clientel is so much wannabes trying to out-talk each other. This place really shows NYC at its worst. more

worst service ever! 7/15/2005

if you go to see and be seen then you're better off at the bronx zoo because the foods definitely better and the staff will know you are alive. this soho spot is just not worth it, its just gross, the maitre'd is just that maitre'Disgusting! more

cold pasta ,bad service, big bill 6/27/2005

Waiters were arrogant and the pasta was cold. If old men with middle aged women is your thing great. But if youre looking for a real dining experience this is a big waste. Some of the big shots at the bar I recognized from the Q train. The decor isnt much either. more

euro is gone it's B&T night everynight 6/26/2005

The food is as horrible as can be. You are far better off buying a pasta dish in a can and heating it by microwave than Cipriani's. The service if you can call it that is nonexistant. God forbid the club upstairs, one look at the Doorman's Cowboy Boots with flames on them should say it all, oh almost forgot his pony tail was almost as telling! The crowd is truely frightening just watch the King of Queens and you'll get the idea. Maybe one of the reasons that waiters never bring your orders could be that they cannot hear you over the screams of Vinny, Sal and Bobby, that or they probably slipped on some of their hair gel. more

know what you are getting! 4/6/2005

If you want (old) people watching, a high energy vibe and good food and don't mind waiting for a table, crowded spaces and high prices, this is a good choice. Although the crowd quality has definitely declined....too many lip enhancements and bad nose jobs...more Dallas than NYC:-( And the bellinis are not hwhat they used to be Pros: old people watching Cons: expensive, crowded, lecherous men more

Dump it 3/6/2005

$60 for a plate of pasta that is not even good. the place is overrated, and not worth the money. Only reason to go is seen and be seen. A total loss of time and money. Never again. more

Go for the Glam! 12/4/2004

I love this place! If you want to see the beautiful, the rich, the rainmakers all in one place, go to Chip's downtown! Score a seat outside and you'll feel like your in the South of France. The food is yummy, and a Bellini is a must (invented by Cipriani!). I love the old school waiters, too...nice touch. Pros: super chic, bellinis!, people watching Cons: , can be crowded more

Wonderful! (If you've got some extra cash) 10/24/2004

Cipriani's is an amazing restaurant. The food is good, but the drinks are DIVINE, especially their Bellinis (Champagne with peach juice). I have seen many celebrities there, from Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, P. Diddy, (The list goes on). The waiters do seem a little bit arrogant though. The food is quite good, and quite fresh. One thing to try is Cipriani Upstairs, which is the club that opens upstairs later in the evening. MANY MANY more celebs go there, and the decor is quite beautiful. It's quaint and small and they always have the best DJ's. Make sure to make reservations in advance as it is difficult to get in without one. Also, DRESS TO IMPRESS. Overall, a great restaurant in one of the hippest parts of NYC. more

So high and so low 8/11/2004

Nothing is worse than paid so much for such a horrible service where the waiter is almost forcing you to order when you want to sit/relax/have a glass of a f* expensive wine - no,no - you must eat!!! After a long working day, a heavy lunch meeting - I do not want to eat. It was raining - so it wasn't any view as it's part of paiyng so much for being there. Easy on bringuing the bill!!! Been rushed and paid so much is a realy bad experience with no returns... more

Recommended but expensive 7/23/2004

I had a really small glass of belini and paid $15, thats redicilous. Food is great but the portions are to small and its great for people watching. more
