We had the drain clog to beat all drain clogs -- in a section of pipe that proved extremely hard to access. Kerry spent three hours working on it, and then had to come back the next day with a camera and a partner hoping to see what the problem was. After at least 5 hours, involving two plumbers, and three different operations with different types of equippment, the charge was only half of what I expected. Very conscientious work by both men. I recommend them highly. more

Very good business. Around 1 PM I noticed my AC had gone out. The fan was blowing in the house, but when I went outside, the outside fan was not running and the unit was making a buzzing noise. Temperature in the house was rising steadily. I was on the clock working (in my home office) at the time and didn't have a lot of time to research a new service provider after learning my old one had moved out of my area. I had heard this company advertised on the radio, checked out their website, BBB rating and some recent reviews and they sounded good so I called. They put me on the schedule for today/same day between 3 and 7 pm. They called as promised 30 minutes before the technician came. Javier arrived about 3:45, introduced himself politely, shook hands, asked me the problem and went right to work. \r \r He diagnosed the problem as a blown capacitor which had shut off the compressor and fan. Installed a hard start kit, which allowed the compressor/fan to start up again and resume cooling. There was a slight problem with getting my thermostat to communicate with the unit but that was also taken care of. He also diagnosed that the compressor and fan motor were starting to fail, probably from age, and stated I should start planning to replace either/or both those parts and/or think about getting a new unit. He gave me estimates for the parts replacement and a ballpark figure on unit replacement together with other information about financing options and add'l. details. The technician answered all my questions and was very professional throughout. I liked that he took a picture of the damage on his phone to show me, and immediately emailed me a receipt with detailed explanation of the work, and estimates in writing. \r \r The charge was reasonable. I wrote a check and he was on his way before five o'clock. As of now, nearly an hour later, the unit is still running and the house is cooling off nicely. At this time, I'm very satisfied with the service and price, and plan to use this company again in future for any additional repairs that may be needed and eventually probably a new unit, though of course I hope that won't be for awhile.. more

We recently had to replace one of the HVAC systems in our home and obtained quotes from 4 local companies that received good reviews before doing so. Stewart McGregor of Church Services responded the same day, offered very competitive pricing, a new 16 SEER system to replace our old 12 SEER system and was able to do so in 24 hours! In addition, they filed with our electric company for an energy rebate saving us over $400 and scheduled all of the required inspections by the city. Church Services' technicians were great to work with, efficient and very craftsman like in their workmanship. In addition, the project was visited before and after installation for inspection by the technicians supervisor. The inspector from the city commented that he thought they did an outstanding job and was especially impressed with their workmanship and the new CO detectors that they installed near each bedroom. In summary, if you are considering a new HVAC system, Church Services will provide you with an outstanding system at a very competitive price. more

I called Church Services to schedule an A/C check-up. Al Fischer came out the SAME DAY! He found a leak at the valve steam on the high pressure line. He just tightened the valve and recharged the system with freon. I was only charged for the freon and service call! No hidden fees! No added costs! Excellent Service! Honest and Thorough Service Technicians! I would recommend Church Services in Austin, Tx. to everyone! more

I highly recommend Church Services to anyone. We have a two year old house and while the system has been running fine we have a couple of rooms that are consistently hotter in the summer and colder in the winter than the rest of the house. This problem is something the builder of our home could not fix after two return visits! Said it was all built to code, blah, blah blah and to change anything would cost us a lot of money! Since we needed to get a regular system check up and maintenance agreement going anyway, we asked around for recommendations and kept hearing good things about Church Services. Kevin showed up on time this morning, was very courteous, cleaned several things to make the system more efficient, gave us recommendations on good and inexpensive air filters, and was quickly able to identify an easy and inexpensive solution to balancing the temps in the two problem rooms. We are already scheduled to make the simple changes Kevin suggested. This is now another thing I can move from the ""need to do"" list to the ""taken care of"" list! more

We've been using Church Services (formerly Christian Brothers) for years now for our AC and plumbing services. They installed an entire new AC system for us two years ago and ensured us the best price and helped us get all applicable rebates. We purchased the parts/labor/maintenance package with our new AC and in the spring and fall they call us to remind us to schedule our free system check ups to ensure everything is running smoothly with the changing of seasons. We recently had a problem with the AC, and a technician named Al came out and went above and beyond to make sure that everything was running smoothly. Their staff is always professional and friendly and I would definitely recommend Church services! more

Our disposal broke last night creating a big mess. Being new to town I called Church Services because of their fun name as I haven't dealt with anybody else in Austin yet. My service tech, Randy, came right out, installed a new disposal, fixed a toilet, looked at a potential remodel and was on his way. Great service at a reasonable price! more

We called Church Services to come out and repair our A/C. We were happy to hear that they served the Lockhart area. When the tech – Kevin Bosch, arrived he was courteous and professional. Fixed the problem and even followed up the next day to make sure that we were satisfied with the work. We are very pleased and would definitely recommend using them! more

I called Christian Brothers to have a gas grill connected to my natural gas outlet. I was able to arrange for a plumber to come out the next day. I was told that the service call would be $69 and it would be waived if I had the work done.\r The plumber arrived the following day and told me that it would cost $300.00 to connect the line. I already have the outlet, it just needed a reducer applied and then be checked for leaks. I asked the plumber why it would be so much. He replied ""materials and labor"". I asked him exactly what he was going to do for that much money. He was extremely elusive and I never did get an answer. When I pressed further he explained all it needed was the reducer to fit my connector. He offered to give me a $50.00 coupon but added he didn't feel I would have it done for that amount either. He was right. \r He asked me what I expected to pay for the work and I told him around $100.00.\r I feel that this guy was trying to gouge me. I contacted other plumbers that told me this job would be between $120-$145. I had to call back to the office to ask for a receipt for the service call fee.\r They sent me one via email. In the receipt the plumber noted that he quoted me $250.00 and that I wanted it done for $100.00. This was not a completely factual statement.\r In the end I went to Lowes and spent $2.50 in parts and then about 15 minutes of my own time connecting the grill.\r I would not recommend using these guys.\r BTW, they also operate under the name Church Services. more

The customer service of this company is the best I have experienced in a long while. After I explained that I was disabled and needed cooler air to breathe, someone was dispatched and in my house within an hour. The technician was Al Fischer and he was great. Fast, efficient and professional without being cold and mechanical. My a/c system was up and working within an hour. I will recommend this company to my friends and family. more

My daughter just moved in, got her bathed and was about to put her to bed for her first day of her new preschool when I discovered the AC was out. It was very warm inside the house, and she was barely able to get comfortable. I called and was able to get to the first available visit the next morning. I chose Church for an A/C installation. Mark Madigan came out to inspect their installers' work and found that a breaker needed to be replaced before the City inspector came out to issue the permit. Mark quickly replaced the breaker. The City inspector was also going to check the work of a competitor that had just installed a new water heater. Mark took a look at the water heater and found that the other company's installer had neglected to install a part needed to pass inspection. He offered to install that part at no charge to me. As a result, both units passed inspection by the City, thanks to Mark's expertise and excellent customer service. He went above and beyond the call of duty, by spotting and the fixing the error made by another company's installer. If he hadn't, it would have caused at least another week's delay and inconvenience to me in getting the water heater permitted. That's a level of customer service which is rarely seen today. I wish all service companies had more people like Mark on their team. It is confirmation that a company is only as good as it's people, and excellent customer service should be the top priority. Overall, I am happy with the product and installation that I received from Church, and plan to use them in the future. I would recommend them to anyone needing HVAC installation. more

Buying an AC is a rough process along not to mention if you have not planned for it. Mark at Church Services really helped smooth things over and made the stress of having this done very minimal and even helped save me money overall. Had Church Services come to do the yearly checkup on our air conditioning system. While the visit was later in the evening than expected, they were courteous, they were quick, and they were reasonably priced. Special shout out to Al Fischer who did his work unobtrusively and professionally. I will be calling them again for any type of repair we need in our home! more

We have used Church Services for plumbing issues and have been extremely satisfied with their work so we felt confident in selecting them for our heating and air conditioning work. John the salesman came to our home and looked over everything very thoroughly and explained all of out options with no pressure to purchase. We made our decision a few days later and scheduled the work to be done. Jose and Felix arrived on time the day the work was to be done and were very pleasant and professional in performing the work. They explained and answered all questions (simply and pleasantly) that were asked of them while they worked. They were respectful of our property as well. Mark, their supervisor, arrived later in the afternoon to look over the work that had been done and was also pleasant and professional. He went over everything with us and made sure that we had no questions about the work that had been done. Mark returned about a week later after the city inspector had passed the work to once again check out the work that had been done and to be sure that we were pleased with the work. We feel that Church Services cares a great deal about the work they do and the safety of their customers. We would highly recommend Church Services. more
