STAY AWAY!!! 12/3/2011

I used this company 1 year ago because they were on the list for Aircheck Texas as a repair facility recognised through the state to repair for emissions failed state inspections. they did repairs to pass my truck ok now the next year when it came time for inspection again it failed again and I only put about 3000 miles on the truck within the year, what happened? So I got another voucher with Aircheck Texas and went back to them again, They checked it out and told me I needed repairs in the amount of $890. I was surprised and asked them to show me why and told them I was a retired auto tech. with 36 years exp. They showed me and I agreed to the repairs. I got my truck back and left I was about 1.5 miles away and my truck started overheating, never did that before. I took it back, they checked it out for about 3 to 4 hours tried to tell me it was the guage malfunctioning and then changed the thermostat with no change and then told me it was probably the water pump. I told them no way was it the water pump at this time they gave me a ride home. A couple of day's later they called and said it was ready. I went to pick it up and they had replaced the water pump and told me it was extra expense to me. I inspected the old pump and said there was nothing wrong with this pump they said probably because of rust. I went to the truck raised the hood and showed evidence of the original repair had been redone. they said they don't do business like that and I said let's put the old water pump back on and see. Well he told me that would be ridicoulious , THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER TAKE MY TRUCK PAY THE ORIGINAL AGREED AMOUNT AND DON""T COME BACK.! In the original amount was for parts twice as much for a distributor as I could have paid if I bought it myself also twice as much for gaskets and other items. The labor for this repair was $140- $200 above the estimated rate for this area as well. All in all they lied about their screw up and tried to charge me for a repair not needed to cover the expense to correct their screw up. They give you that warm confident neighborly fuzzy up front BUT question their integrety and quality about the business you do with them. My advice is GO SOMEWHERE ELSE more

TRIAL AND ERROR MECHANICS WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE 7/23/2011

I have used Christian Bros at this location for a few years now. I have spent well over $3000 in the last 3 years on repairs for one our older family cars. While I understand that systems are more complex now than in the past, I find that this repair shop uses ""trial and error"" mechanics to try to repair problems. The same vehicle has been serviced routinely for electrical diagnosis because alarm kept sounding. Soon after, the battery was replaced, the alternator replaced TWICE, and most recently the starter. Despite the ""trial and error"" issues, at least the staff, Phil and Dan, have been very professional. However, my most recent trip changed that opinion. When cashing out for another $500, I presented a AAA card while the card authorization was being processed. I have used the AAA card EACH AND EVERY time at the shop, but still need to present it when paying which is a bit much. In any event, Nate decided it was too late and too much trouble to provide the $50 credit so he told me it couldn't be done. Being in finance, I knew this was a BOLD FACE LIE. When I challanged him, he continued to hold the position that I, the customer, should have prsented the card before and there was nothing he could do. In any event, it was too inconvenient for Nate to void and re-enter the amount, or issue a credit on another transaction. Nate's position that it was my fault and he shouldn't be inconvenienced violates every rule of customer service. In any event, I told Christian Bros I would never use their service again. more

Strike Three 1/21/2011

Dear Christian Brothers on Vista Ridge Parkway:\r \r Strike Three -- You're Out!\r \r First, I will say we have had work done on our vehicle at the 620 location with excellent results. The Vista Ridge location, however, is a different story.\r \r Our first experience with the VR location was we dropped off a car that we were contemplating buying for our son. We requested that they perform the $100+ check to see what, if anything, was wrong with the car before buying. When we picked up the car they had not performed the $100+ check but rather did a ""visual"" and gave it a thumbs up and said everything looked good. (Strike One - for not doing what we requested.)\r \r Our next experience with the VR location was we dropped our car off at 9:00 a.m. to have the brakes checked and replaced. They didn't even look at it until 3:00 p.m. (Strike Two). Once they looked at it they questioned a couple of things on the car. My response was to relay our first experience of -- all this was supposed to have been checked when we brought in the first time - which you guys didn't check. Imagine our surprise when presented with a whole list of things needed to be repaired on the car - some necessary, some maintenance. Even being irked, I thought they had redeemed themselves for doing what we asked them to do the first time free of charge, since they dropped the ball.\r \r They replaced the front brakes. We pick up the car - my son comments that the brakes feel soft/squishy - that he has to almost push them to the floor for them to stop. We return the car the next day to the VR location to have them check the brakes that they just replaced - now the master cylinder needs to be replaced. \r \r I questioned a mechanic (unfortunately in another city or else he would have repaired the brakes) if it was possible that they wouldn't have noticed that the master cylinder needed to be replaced when they replaced the brakes or for that matter would they not have noticed when they drove it after replacing the brakes? His response:\r \r ""No, it is not possible for the techs not to notice when the brakes were fully installed and then again after being road tested. The squishy pedal would have been noticeable the split second the technician pumped the brakes to re-set the calipers. IMO the service center should have not given you back the car if a problem had developed. They should have notified you that the master was faulty and needed replacement, because without the master the car has no brakes. The only suggestion I can offer is if you feel you've been hoodwinked take your vehicle to another garage the next time it needs repairs."" \r (Strike Three)\r \r Darn right, I feel hoodwinked. There's no way I'd bring my car back to Christian Brothers Automotive for anything. They've proven themselves to be untrustworthy in my opinion. more

Best service and most thorough repair shop around 2/15/2009

I have 5 cars, and I have used several places near our house. Christian Brothers in Cedar Park was recommended to me when I was not satisfied with a recent quote from another local business in Cedar Park. Christian Brothers took the time to explain what they found, repaired it and saved me money as well! They are kind, considerate and are very upfront with how they do business. After my experience with Christian Brothers, I would not ever go to the other places as they alwaysl try and sell more than required, and say more is wrong with your vehicle than really is. I appreciate thier honesty and their integrity from the front desk to the repairman. I have recommended Christian brothers to everyone I know! Pros: Beautiful building, expert repairmen and wonderful help Cons: can not find any cons more

Best Auto Shop in Cedar Park! 2/10/2009

I have a German car that generally has me paying very high repair bills. I have also been ripped off by more than one automotive place. I just recently took my car to Christian Brothers Automotive on Vista Ridge Blvd. I recently relocated to the area and had never been there before. I walked in the door to a man with a smile on his face, which immediately made me feel comfortable. I dropped it off in the morning and they gave me a ride to my local destination free of charge!!! I picked it up 4 hours later and it was all finished. They solved the problem very quickly, efficiently, and at a very low cost! They were thorough in explaining everything to me and were happy to answer my questions. I have never been to a better auto shop. All the employees had smiles on their faces and were very warm and welcoming. They truly did live up to their saying: ""At Christian Brothers Automotive, we seek to glorify God by providing ethical and excellent automotive repair service for our customers."" I had a great experience and I will definitely be going back to CBA for all my car repair needs. I would highly recommend them to everyone!!!! Pros: Service, Friendly, Quick, Efficient, and Very Helpful! Cons: None whatsoever! more

Christian Brothers Auto 11/26/2008

Took my vehicle in for an oil leak and inspection and was pleasantly surprised to find that these guys are honest! So many other car shops you never know if you are getting the straight deal or not. They took the time to explain each of the problems I brought the van in for and then also explained some other items that were found and the implications of fixing, or not fixing them. It was refreshing to have someone take the time to help educate me. more

Christian Brothers Auto at Vitsta Ridge has been outstanding. 11/17/2008

They have always been most courteous and wonderful. I used to go to Lambs. We were loyal customers of theirs for over 20 years. Unfortunately they completely messed up my AC and then broke a door handle on my car without even mentioning to me their many mistakes in fixing my car. I was so angry that I swore never to go to Lambs again. But CB has been such a blessing. I have them in my phone under ?Christ?. And they are truly a godsend. They know my name, they are honest, and they truly represent the best of the car repair industry. I look forward to my next 20 years with them! Pros: Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, clean, reverent. Cons: NONE AT ALL more

Great service/Friendly/Dependable 11/17/2008

I've taken my two cars (and my mother-in-law's car) to Christian Bros. Automotive on Vista Ridge many times since they first opened. They've always done the job right and didn't try to do repairs that I didn't want/need. They are always friendly non-intimidating. The waiting room is very nice and clean and they have wireless internet so I can get work done on my laptop while I'm waiting. They also provide a ride to work or home, if I don't want to wait. So far, I have no complaints, but only compliments. I highly recommended taking your car to their shop. more
