This place is fantastic in every way imaginable except for one: a smoking section. Blech. I love the blackened alligator tails so much I have dreamt about them before. The hush puppies are also out of this world. Pros: Delicious Food, Service, Prices Cons: Wait Time, Smoking more

The Chimes has been a staple of Baton Rouge for years, and its where I ate my first taste of Louisiana food. There is plenty to choose from, and you always see someone you know in its near campus location. Be prepared to wait on a friday or saturday night though. more

They have the best beer (on tap) selection in town, the wait staff is very nice, and it's a dark bar/restaurant. What more could you ask for? They also have some really good south LA food to go along with the beer. PROS: beer, beer and beer. CONS: more

  • Located in Baton Rouge, La., The Chimes restaurant offers patrons a variety of menu options including crab cakes, Buffalo wings, spinach and artichoke dip, soups and salads, shrimp, crawfish, baby back ribs, seafood pasta, pork chops, oyster, catfish, turkey burger, Portobello sandwich and hot fudge sundaes. The Chimes boasts a diverse list of more than 130 different varieties of beer from throughout the world. The Wine Cellar located beneath The Chimes main lobby, seats nearly 40 people for a served dinner and will accommodate 50-55 patrons for cocktail parties.
