Children's Dental Village

It's very disheartening to read a review from a parent about Children's Dental Village that focuses only on a financial issue. My son (who has many special needs) has been seen by both Dr. Longfellow and Dr. Padilla since he was 18 months old (he is almost 9 now). The entire staff is very patient and loves working with children. They have a gift that you rarely see in any medical/dental offices these days. They truly care about the families they work with! I have found the opposite case with their business staff as Casey W. All accounts are handled personally by in-office staff and they were willing to work with me to make payments. They have also gone above and beyond any other office I've worked with to help me understand my benefits (and I work with MANY Doctor's offices). Warning, Stay away unless you have Delta Dental. I brought my 4 kids in for a routine cleaning, and ended up with a 400.00 bill after insurance paid their portion. Total cost for the cleanings was 800.00. You won't know how much you will be paying until after the work has been completed, and insurance pays their portion. By then you are stuck with a bill, and a billing dept that will not work with you. The work took an assistant less than 2 hours to perform for all kids, an avg of 400.00 per hour. \r Again, stay away unless they are contracted by your insurance. more

Dr. Mercedes Padilla is one of the two dentists that help run The Longfellow Practice. The other dentist is Dr. Allan Longfellow. Together they make up the Longfellow Practice. Dr. Mercedes Padilla, is a wonderful amazing lady. She works with my youngest daughter who she just seems to mesmerize with her voice. Dr. Padilla can be seen getting down to the kids level meeting them eye to eye and even speaking a mother-ese type of voice when speaking with them. She has very gentle touches when working with the kids and is very wiling to work with parents and kids with any circumstances they may have. The Longfellow Practice, where Dr Padilla works, is an amazing place! There is a child friendly door (kid size) which welcomes the kids into the office. The secretary even has a kid friendly desk which is at the perfect height for them to see the top of the desk.
