Caring staff, we are very pleased 10/4/2011

My son has been attending Chesterbrook for a little over a year and we are extremely happy with the care he receives. He loves his teachers and so do we. He is leaps and bounds above of kids his own age in terms of verbal abilities. They are even teaching him Spanish. more

A wonderful nurturing environment for children 11/24/2010

I have been bringing my children to CBA for going on 4 years. My oldest daughter is now in kindergarten and she is out performing her peers because of the excellent curriculum at Chesterbrook Academy. The teachers are all caring and professional, and they are very student centered. My infant daughter is 7 mos old now, I have been bringing her since she was 6 weeks old. I think she likes being at school better than being at home! The teachers work hard to follow my routines and accomodate her needs. This is really a wonderful nurturing environment for children. I also like that the teachers are informed about children who have siblings and allow siblings opportunities to visit each other .Also theyincorporate physical fitness and Spanish into the program, AWESOME!I really could go on for hours about CBA I think it is a great school. more

Please don't send your child here 4/6/2009

This place is not safe for children and should lose its license. According to my Infant Daily Report they were letting my child go 6 hours in between feedings (she was 3 months old) when she is on an every 3 hour feeding. On another occasion I came in to find my child screaming in a bouncy seat while a teacher sat there blowing bubbles. Turned out she had not eaten in over 4 hours and was screaming out of hunger. I ended up having to feed her myself in the lobby because the teachers were too lazy to feed her for me. Pros: location Cons: everything more

Getting better by the minute 4/3/2009

although this school has such a bad reputation among a lot of people. I resently took a tour given by ms. angie and she was so nice. That I decided to give the school a chance. my child is 2 yrs old and I absolutely love my experience so far. my child did cry for the 1st week but after that he adapted very well. Ms. Lisa is a good teacher and my son loves him. Every class room doesn't seem as organized or calm as his. but my advise to people is to give this school a try. other people's opinion is not necessarily true. there is always two sides to a story. So give them a try. change is coming more

Not recommended 11/4/2008

My child attended Chesterbrook Academy and it was an abysmal experience. He was first in the infant room and almost immediately, there were 2 or 3 staff turnovers within the first 2 weeks! I brought up a concern I had with one of the teachers to the principal and she told me to work it out with the teacher myself- as if I were her boss... It did get better after a permanent staff person was hired for that infant room and I believed that she genuinely cared for my son. However, once he was moved to the toddler rooms - he was always dirty, and came home smelling of something funny, his clothes were dissheveled and he also had diaper rash frequently. Pros: Convenient location Cons: Everything else more

The Worse 8/27/2008

My child went to this childcare for six months. Initially when he was in the infant room it was a good experience. However, when he transitioned to the toddler room it was the worse experience ever! He screamed whenever he went near the room. At first, I thought he was having a hard time transitioning. That was not the case! The teacher was lazy and very unprofessional. Everyday I dropped him off she would be sitting in the same spot when I picked him up. They would only change him at their convenience. He would always have a diaper rash. I removed him ASAP! Please do not ever take your child through this experience! more

A daycare to avoid 3/31/2008

Very unprofessional. Staff is very rude and lazy . Some teachers have their own children and grandchildren among the kids, favoritism is not enough to describe what goes on there, they openly ignore your child on behalf of their own. Staff turn around is also an issue. The director is nice but is uncapable of keeping the staff in line (or unwilling!). After only couple of months I had to take my child out of there... more

Morning Staff 8/24/2007

Not to be judgmental, but the morning staff are unprofessional. The children regardless of what age are put into one room. The staff who suppose to watch these children are non-existent. They yap to fellow colleagues and munch on donuts, pretzels.... The Assistant Director is a bit pushy which is a major turn off. I love the principal, Ms. Harley, one of the NICEST principal in the entire CC daycares. Hope one day she'll read other reviews and change the staff around. Pros: Ms. Zakiyyah Harley (Best Principal) Cons: Daycare Providers esp. the young ones more

Just keep looking! 1/17/2006

There are only a few bright spots at this facility. The principal and a slect few of the teachers. Unfortunately the few bright spots are over shadowed by the unprofessional and discourteous staff. The staff also have a tendency to play favorites with the kids and parents. Not a problem unless you are the one they decide not to include. So overall I would not recommend this cite unless you are really in a bind. Don't bother to spend an exorbinant amount of money for little in return, discourteousy and unprofessionalism. Pros: principal, area parks Cons: teaching staff, small facility, no parking more
