Cheapo Discs

As another reviewer put it, Cheapo Discs really is the granddaddy of all record stores in Austin. You can find new CD's in this store easily, but what you really go in there for are their used CD's. And there's not really a "Used Section" because just about their whole store is used CD's. You'll find some really great deals here on music that you might not be able to find anywhere else. You do need to be a bit patient because the amount of CD's to look through can be overwhelming but it's worth it. If you've never been here and want a "brief" on what type of music they carry, just look through their Recent Arrivals section. It's several bins long but it's fun. You can also find used records and DVDs. Definitely my favorite music store in Austin. more

Cheapo Discs is a great affordable place to shop for the greatest selection of used music. It does take awhile to browse through but when you have time I can assure you, you will never leave empty handed! They have a wide variety of music genre’s, so there is something for everyone. The staff is knowledgeable and always seem to know exactly where to find what you’re looking for. more

Cheapo's is the granddaddy of used record stores in Austin. Other shops may have a bin or two of used CDs and that's it. Cheapo's has dozen or so bins. In fact Cheapo's has so many used CDs they most recent arrivals are divided up into bins marking the day they came in. I think some of the regulars come in every day just to see what recently came in. Beware though, once you start flipping through the use CDs you won't be able to stop. You'll find things you love, an album that you lost in your most recent move and would love to have back, and things to just plain make you laugh (oh my god! I remember this song!!) more
