Hip hidden hotspot 6/8/2010

I was meeting someone for dinner and they suggested the Channel Cafe. Boy am I glad she did! I feel like I would have never discovered this on my own because it's sort of in a hidden part of town. Everyone was really friendly and extremely accommodating. Eclectic artwork. A cute little dog walking around. Plenty of good beers to choose from. Delicious menu items. I went with the pulled pork sandwich - it was heavenly. Their fries were perfection. This gallery turned restaurant (which still has a small gallery inside) has style, charm and a laid back atmosphere. Definitely worth going to! Try their 'burger and a beer' combo on Thursday or Friday nights from 5pm-7pm - choose a sirloin or a veggie burger and any draft beer for $10 - not too shabby! Pros: Great beer selection, cool artsy vibe, amazing pulled pork Cons: No cons for me more

Overpriced 3/19/2010

Channel cafe has good food, but with their recent price hikes of $1-$3 on each menu item they've lost my business. There are several comparable lunch spots within close proximity that serve great sandwiches at half the new prices. You should pass this basement cafe by and enjoy one of the several other places nearby with better views and reasonable prices! Pros: Good Food Cons: Comparable Places close by with Reasonable Prices more

A welcome surprise in Ft. Point 9/13/2008

A great place for casual dinner ? but only served Thursday ?Saturday. Quality food: vegetarian options, daily specials and delicious deserts. Good value for a Boston area restaurant. Artsy relaxed vibe: it has active gallery space just off the dining area and the building is a residence for Ft. Point artists. A small funky space. Sometimes they have live music. It even has a bar with great beers on tap. Hard to beat. The servers have always been friendly and do a great job? We live in the area and go often but haven?t been able to get here for breakfast or lunch. Our favorite dinner dishes: chicken or tofu rice bowl, veggie burger and lamb burger ? all are excellent. Oh yeah, they serve illy coffee! Yum! \r Pros: Great for dinner Cons: Not open for dinner every night more

Cool place with excellent food! 8/28/2008

This is a great place to visit for lunch or for dinner. Although service can be slow at times, the food makes up for it! Everyting tastes fresh and they always have interesting new daily specials. The space is also interesting and it helps relax, specially if you work in the area. It is busy starting at 12 PM, but if you can arrive 10-15 mins early you will have no problem getting a seat. Pros: Excellent food; excellent ambiance Cons: Waiting time for lunch more

Good and Healthy for Lunch 11/7/2006

I have visited the channel cafe multiple times since it is one of the few sit-down restaurants in the area for lunch. The food is consistently fresh and carefully prepared, and although the staff is sometimes unreliable, they are friendly. From 12:00-2:00 it is often very busy and they could use more staff, but after 2:00 the turnaround time is much quicker and it is a more relaxing experience. They vegetarian options and daily specials are excellent! more
