Here's my experience. I bought a Ninja 650R using the Costco program from champion. The costco program is great, but I did not like the rear fender. I knew a fender eliminator kit existed so I wanted that as part of the package to make sure everything was right with my new bike. The salesman told me the kit was in and they could install it right there so I went ahead with the purchase of the bike. After the paperwork, they sent me to the parts department to get the kit and it was not in stock and the salesman must have thought it was the ninja 250 kit I needed. They would call me when the kit was in to schedule installation. I had already paid for the kit and installation. Two weeks passed and I had not heard anything about my kit so I called and it was in. Getting it installed was easy, not problems getting an appoinment. But, before they installed the kit I was informed the kit was illegal AND the stock turn signals would not fit. They did install a pair of aftermarket lights for free. I drove the bike home and to work the next day when I noticed the license plate holder was about to fall off and the bolt was missing. I called and they told me they would check everything. When I brought my bike in they told me that was a common problem. They secured the holder and sent me on my way. When I got home I double-checked the kit. The license plate holder had been broken, there was a scratch on the turn signal AND one of the turn signals was not working. I was pissed so I called and asked for a manager. He expressed simpathy and ask what could be done to make things right. I told him I had already made to additional trips to his dealership and wanted come credit for my time. He said he would talk to the other managers to see what he could do. When I bought my bike in they told me the buld was bad and they replaced the entire turn signal because they were unable to replace the bulb because the aftermarket signals were too hard to work on. I spoke with the manager and he asked exactly what I wanted and I requested reimbursement of the installation costs. I explained I had made 3 extra trips to his dealership and if I had to pay for their time ($80 /hour) it would be well over $160. He said he would talk to the owner and see what he could do. I followed up the next day and the manager said he would not reimburse me anything and all he could offer was 20% off my 600 mile checkup. I told him I wouldn't bring my bike in for a check-up when his dealership couldn't even put a fender elimination kit on correctly after a SECOND attempt. I feel the salesman told me what it would take to make the sale, then the manager made sure he made me feel I was going to be taken care of when I was on site so I could not influence his other customers, knowing all along he was not going to reimburse me anything. BEWARE!! more
