They keep improving upon near 3/9/2013

They keep improving upon near perfection at this market and cafe. Shopping here makes grocery shopping fun especially with what they call, sip and shop. You can shop with a beer or wine purchase from the cafe. Suddenly grocery shopping is no longer a chore. more

I like to go here for breakfast and 3/15/2012

I like to go here for breakfast and drink coffee while I work. Awesome menu with variety. Burgers and fries are good. Loud at lunchtime! more

Lots of choices 10/25/2009

I enjoy finding healthy food, fresh meat and organic produce in one stop. Also really like the lotions and oils for my skin, as they have a large selection to choose from. Pros: Lots of healthy choices Cons: Poor layout of store more

Great Wedding Catering!! Talk to Patty! 5/29/2009

I catered my wedding through Central Market Westgate, and it was amazing! We got a ton of food that was all incredibly tasty and very well priced. Patty made sure that everyone was happy the day of, and everyone loved the food. We went to another caterer before, and we literally got five times the food at half the price at Central Market! \r \r Before coming to Central Market, we tried cake at $5.50 or so a person and got our specially made cake there for about $1 a person instead, generously filled with fresh strawberries. Be sure to ask for Mercedes in the bakery. And the cake was much yummier than the $5.50 a person cake! \r \r We even got our flowers at Central Market, and they were lovely. Diana met with us and was so helpful in making great suggestions for the day.\r \r I highly recommend Central Market Catering for any event, especially when you don't want to worry about anything and love great food! Pros: Amazing food, easy to work with, great prices Cons: None! more

Favorite grocery 4/17/2009

I love the Central Market. I know that when you first go in, it has the look of ""expensive specialty market."" I consider it my personal mission to convince people otherwise. You can, of course, spend more money than you make on fancy cheeses, olives, and wine. But you could do that at Randall's if you really tried too. For local produce and local/natural meats, Central Market has the best prices I've found. When price comparing the pre-packaged stuff I buy (salsa, cake mix, tea bags, noodles, blah blah blah), CM beats the bigger chains every time. To be fair, I will not shop at Walmart, so it's possible they're cheaper. I don't know, and I really don't care. They have the most amazing produce department I've ever seen, with fresh herbs always priced at $1 per large bunch and exotic fruits and veggies to sample as well. Trying a new recipe? They've probably got the ingredients. Need a recommendation? You're bound to find someone excited to talk about food with you. Mind, this is not the place to stock up on cheap frozen pizzas, Kraft Mac&cheese, or even Coke, 'cause you won't find it (least not cheap, non-organic or non-wheat-free non-vegetarian pizzas). But butter at $2/lb and $2/dozen free range eggs are standard. It takes willpower to bypass the dessert counter, but it's there if you need a quick sugar fix. The prepared meals are cheaper than eating out. The bakery is superb. And the iced coffees are $1.62, which, I believe, beats Starbucks by a long shot. Even fresh flowers are occasionally on sale near the check-out counter, ready for impulse buys to brighten your day. I love this place. Pros: Great selection and prices Cons: I could get stuck in the cheese aisle all day. more

Cool when you have a little time 11/21/2006

Great store with a good meat department, very helpful wine dept., and love the soup and salad bar. I feel it's always fresh there. Not great for your everyday shopping needs, but great for your every other day shopping needs. more

Amazing for a grocery store 5/12/2002

This is the kind of place you to go for food and prepared food, but not necessarily for TP or soap (although they have both, organic and pricey). I think the main reason I go here is the fresh vegetables and fruit, not to mention the wide variety of meat. The bread selection (all very fresh) is also a highlight. I also like going to the built-in restaurant or taking some prepared food home for an easy meal. Don't forget to stop by the coffee and get a pound of something you've never tried, but will most likely love. I always like to show out-of-towners this store because unless you've seen it, you have no idea. more
