Our Spot For Our Annual Trip 12/23/2010

I've stayed here the last 3 yrs for my annual Miami trip & it's always nice. Not the fanciest place but for the money & location it's perfect for me & my friends. It's across the street from the beach, several restaurants, clubs, shopping, etc. It just fits the bill. The staff is great & they make some good drinks to get you in the mood. more

Absolutely love Cavalier Hotel. My friends and I come to Miami every year for spring break, and every year we stay at Cavalier Hotel. The location couldn't be any more perfect, its right there next to all the hot spots! And the customer service is respectful and attentive. more

I absolutely loved my experience at Cavalier Hotel! My girlfriend and I were a little put off by the reviews first, however we still decided to book with Cavalier because of the price and location. it was definitely worth it, and I enjoyed the little vaca with my bestie! We had a blast! 11/12/2010

I stayed at the Cavalier with a group of 6 ladies. We had a blast! The hotel always has someone on staff, which gave us a secure feeling coming in late at night. The Cavalier is located right on the beach on Ocean Drive, and has one of the most historically photographed facades, absolutely stunning! Steps away from the Versace Mansion, shopping, and literally a 5$ cab ride from pretty much anything you would want to see in South Beach. The staff knows the area well and is so friendly. What better way to find out the local hot spots, than the people who live there? The food was amazing! I have never eaten so many raw oysters in my life. Local fresh food, and a huge selection, with something for everyone. The rooms had huge closets, perfect for the dresses, shoes, and accessories that accompany 7 women! The sheets were comfortable and clean, I do not know how the staff removed all of the sand everyday, but every afternoon we came home to a spotless room! more

Everything you could want is there for you and Sunshine is guaranteed, with the sunshine guarantee, if there is a day that has no sun while you are staying with them during the months of June, July & August they will give you a certificate good for a complimentary night in conjunction with a future visit to be used with in 1 year of issue. Beat that! more

Every room has a great view! 10/22/2010

I found this hotel very clean and the staff was very friendly. They have a kids camp daily in the summer that is free for paid guests of the hotel. My child just loved it.Every room has a great view of the ocean. The pool is very clean. more

IM young so obviously i didnt come to south beach to stay in my hotel all day! duh! the hotel was descent enough to sleep in and take showers and thats all that matters.....basically the hotel looked like a crack motel from the scarface movie (remember the scene when al pacino was chained to the shower rod and they chainsawed his friend to death? yea well they mightve filmed that scene in this hotel! ) more

My friend and I were apprehensive about the Cavalier Hotel prior to our stay because we had read the reviews online. We were relieved to find that most of what was said in these reviews was largely unfounded. The Cavalier Hotel is a two star hotel. That being said it is clean, it is affordable, it is in a fantastic location (literally on the beach), and the customer service is outstanding. The hotel manager, the front desk attendants, the servers, and the maids all went out of there way to make sure we were enjoying our stay and had everything we needed. I can't say enough about how nice everyone was. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room I would suggest upgrading to a pricier location. But if you are looking for an affordable place to sleep that is literally on the beach, this is the place for you. One thing to note is that they will hold a $100 deposit on your credit card upon check in, which is fully refunded upon check out. more

Highly recommended 8/3/2010

We highly recommend this hotel. It is an art deco historical hotel. we found out that it was built in 1936. The rooms were very clean the staff friendly. We did not exoperience any problems and at night we never heard anyone else. So if you are looking for an affordable hotel room this is the place. Plus the food and drinks are great. Yes we will stay here again - more

Definitely would return without a doubt 7/23/2010

I am from Boston and my friend and I decided to take a quick trip to Miami last minute. We came across a great deal flight and hotel $313.00 so we booked it. Before we went we read the reviews and they were not that good. After our trip and experience at the cavalier I would have to say; most were completely inaccurate. The Cavalier is in the best location you could possibly ask for...across the street from beach and in walking distance of everything. I stay in four in five star hotels most of the time and I am being honest when saying that the Cavaliers staff were the best i have ever come across. They were so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond. I can not recommend this hotel enough. I would definitely return without a doubt. more

Penguins... 5/4/2005

First off, this hotel was an incredible value for literally being right on Miami Beach. I would say it's rarely been updated since it's opening judging by the old Miami feel - think Miami Vice - and it's ancient elevator like you see in the movies. There was one point where we got stuck inside trying to get to the third of three floors and had to muscle the cage door open. Room was equipped with a boom box CD player and small refrigerator that acted as a safe with a key. Small bathroom. Very airy feel especially with the large window open. Art-deco styling with fun colors. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay on the beach on a budget, since the overall value was great. The room was clean, cute, had no problems with anything. Bring an alarm clock, for some reason our room didn't have one, and we never got our wakeup call. There's no gym, bar, etc. but the location is perfect and it was extremely inexpensive. Pros: inexpensive, clean, great location Cons: concierge was useless more

Customer is ALWAYS WRONG! 12/31/2002

Where do we start with this hotel NIGHTMARE? The front desk clerk (very unhappy with his job) scolded us for having two different names on our reservation. We had booked through a hotel reservation network instead of calling the hotel directly and this was rocket science. The second night, after forseeing a problem with my girlfriend having one nights room charge on her credit card and the second night on mine, we went to the front desk to ensure there would be no issue with ""not checking out"". After being told that this was no problem (Yeah right!), we received two phone calls at THREE IN THE MORNING inquiring why we had never checked out of our room! I would not even recommend my worst enemy to stay in this hotel! Pros: Near the beach Cons: Poor Service, Small rooms, Dirty Hallways more
