On August 19th I met with Dr Jennifer Schmidt to establish myself as a new patient. But before that I had to wait almost 3 months to get into a visit. Which is not really my issue as I understand some doctors are busy. However after a nice consultation with the Doctor we set expectations for my next visit. She wanted me back for a regular physical and some blood work as soon as possible. Well apparently the discussion I had with the Doctor did not translate over to the front desk. The first appt they had available for me was not for another 6 weeks plus they wanted me to fast until 1pm!!! When I explained that would be very difficult for me to do they proceeded to tell me I could not schedule a monrning appt until end of November. And even then it would be 10:30 in the morning. Which again meant fasting until at least 11 which again I explained is tough since I usually wake around 6am. When I asked to speak to the Doctor I was asked to wait and then the office manager came out. Which of course led to some frustration on my part since I was under the impression I would be speaking with my doctor. So needless to say they did ""make an exception "". Which they reminded my of about 10x. And scheduled something earlier in late sept. I also asked if the Doctor could call me later that day. So not only did the Doctor never call. But today I received and certified letter saying I could no longer be a patient there for being disrespectful. Keeping in mind at no time did I use bad language or speak to anyone in a derrogatory manner. I feel bad for anyone that may feel stress in situations like this or just going to Doctor (which I do...) because you will not get the attention you need from these VERY UNPROFESSIONAL medical staff and doctors. So disappointing. And if they don't return the $160 they took from me for this consultation. I will be contacting a lawyer. more

I am a pt. of Cary Healthcare Associates and have never been more impressed with a doctor's office. My doctor is Courtney Queen FNP, she is the most caring doctor I have ever seen. She is so easy to talk to about your problems, it does not feel as though she is judging you at all. She is extremely knowledgeable in many areas of medicine. She is always available for her patients. The other doctor's are always available to see me if Courtney Queen is out of the office. They always know my medical history I am always confident that they are able to properly treat me at that time. The front desk staff is always pleasant to deal with. I am so glad to be able to have a family doctor that I trust!! more

The staff at Cary Healthcare Associates is very helpful at every visit I have been to. They have always gone above and beyond to help. All of the providers I have seen at this office have been great! Courtney Queen FNP is super awesome. I definitely recommend this practice to family and friends. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/24/2013

Why they are still considered doctors is beyond me. The so-called doctors, especially Dr. Courtney Queen, are useless. They don't look at the patient's file before the appointment, instead I ended up telling her ""oh, this should already in my record, yeah I been here this many times about this, it should be there."" I guess they just CANNOT BE bothered to look at a patient's records. They double-book appointments or overlap them. So, as a patient you end up waiting 1 hour for someone to come in and see you--how professional of these useless people. Their appointment staff is horrible as well, they do not mind going back and forth with a patient. This place is a hell-hole and then some. No one deserves to be go there to waste time and money. more

Dr. Lindsay 3/31/2012

Went to practice once. Saw doctor new to practice. Went in for new patient appointment. She was not interested in my problem. Kept looking at her watch. Said she had to cut appointment short, and was ready to walk out door without helping me at all. Friend saw her for refills. Some prescriptions were not ordered at all, and some medications ordered wrong. Extreme labs were ordered not covered by insurance, fully aware of this, but not letting friend know. The practice is a nightmare. Dr. Lindsay is Chaplin as well as doctor. Very unprofessional. more

Dr. Cynthia Young is fantastic! 3/6/2012

I take both of my children to Dr. Young. She is patient, thorough, gentle, and attentive. I deeply appreciate that she takes her time when she's with us; she shows genuine concern, asks insightful questions, and is respectful of my role as parent. Highly recommend her! more

Decent Office, Caring Doctor for Pediatrics 3/2/2012

We have not seen all of the doctors in the practice, yet. We did see one doctor who is no longer with the practice and she was fine. The doctor who primarily handles the pediatric patients is wonderful. She's caring, great with kids and seems to know her stuff. There is often times a long wait for her once you are taken back to the private room, but I chalk it up to her taking her time with all of her patients which means getting a late start on your appointment. She does usually have a student with her, but the nurse does ask if you are comfortable with that - and you can say no (I have, without issue). Both Family Nurse Practitioners are nice and good with both adults and kids. One can be a little brusk, but she is a good nurse. The other is newer and needs more time to become seasoned. The Physician Assistant is also great. I only have two issues with them: 1) How ready/quick they are to close the office. Allegedly, the phones shut down at 4:30 on a Friday, but I have called at 4:15 and the phones are already turned off and roll to the answering service. Not smart. Also, they sometimes close for holidays that seem unnecessary (ex: in observance of New Year's on Jan 2nd). 2) Their website. It needs updated with information and pictures of all current staff, make corrections to the hours of operation (and make them easier to find), etc. In this day and age, a website is the online face of a business and should be incredibly professional, clean and easy to maneuver. Time for an update, CHA. We have never had any billing issues, which is VERY important. We never have to sit in the waiting room for very long. Overall, we are pleased with the care we have received, to date. more

rude staff, no help from drs 9/21/2011

Ive had enough experience here to say I know what Im talking about, Ive been going here since the birth of my daughter who is now 9 months and I am definitely switching to a new provider. The dr we see never offers any help or suggestions when I ask questions, she just smiles and acts as if its just something I should deal with. Ive always had to wait at least 30 minutes for her to come into the room once we were called back , not an easy feat with an infant. Then once she comes in, we are only seen for about 10 minutes. She always has someone training with her, I never see the same nurse so it's extremely difficult to form a relationship with the staff here as they are a training facility for the neighboring hospital. The appointment staff is the worst of them all! There is one woman with 'blonde' hair that Ive had several head-butts with. She will NOT reschedule an appointment for anything - shes said to me before 'well you just need to keep this appointment'. Last time I was there, my baby was having a melt down (from the long wait we were way past nap time) so I left it up to my hsband to schedule the next appointment. I kind of walked away to console my baby and popped my head back up to the window just as she was telling him the time and date of next appointment - i didnt catch the time bc I wasnt even standing there AND my baby was crying so was hard to hear, so I simply asked 'what time was that?' and both the receptionists looked at me like I was retarded (as if i dont know how to tell time). She responded NINE FIFTY TEN TILL TEN. Well the way she said it caught we off gaurd so I asked ""im sorry please say that again"" and she said ""UGH, I dont know how else to say it ITS TEN TILL TEN NINE FIFTY. This was just the last straw for me, I dont understand her need to be so rude. This woman should be fired or put somewhere that she doesnt have to interact with clients as Im sure Im not the only one that's had a run in with her more

DO NOT see Dr Youngin 6/19/2011

Do not go see Dr. Youngin. I have found out the hard way that she is more interested in making money and moving her patients in and out quickly from her office. It was almost impossible to get an appointment. When I did see her it was for 5 or 10 minutes at a time and she kept having me come back. ($125.00 each time) I met my deductible that year if that tells you anything. Also, I was very resistant to the meds she prescribed me but I sadly trusted her opinion. Now, I'm suffering through severe withdrawal from the meds she prescribed. Oh and btw...she never even mentioned withdrawal symptoms and how hard it would be to stop taking these meds. Do not trust her. I feel it is very unethical to prescribe meds without educating your patient of all the facts? especially since I was very up front about my resistance to take them. She talked me into it. This Dr. Office is an office that cares more about quantity of patients rather than quality of care. Please find another office. I know finding a doctor that provides caring medical service is very hard to come by these days so please take your time before trusting one. I am paying the price for not doing so. more
