I finally got some dental insurance and decided that I should get my teeth cleaned and go in for a checkup. I usually don't get checkups (maybe once every couple or three years), but I do believe I take good care of my teeth, brushing and flossing. I went to Longhorn Dental because they were close to my house. The dentist was ok, I suppose. Nothing spectacular. However, I do believe that she unnecessarily told me that I needed to get my teeth cleaned in two different sessions. It might just be my non-dental professional point of view, but I don't believe that the hygenist did anything over those two trips that she couldn't have done in one. At the first cleaning, the hygenist actually spent more time chatting with the office staff (with instruments in the air while over me, not in my mouth) and going to look for her stuff (purse, etc) than she did in my mouth. The next trip, she did more, but I believe that the total cleaning could have been done in one trip. I think I will try another dentist next time.
