I would NOT recommend Carter Paint & Body 2/12/2012

I recently took my car to his shop to have minor body work. When I picked up the car the work had been done, but other damage had been done to the car while it was in his control. He has been trying to say that the damage was existing when I dropped the car off, even though he has pictures that I have seen that prove that the damage wasn't there. I have been trying to work through this but he has stopped communicating with me. I very strongly recommend you do NOT take your car here. more

I would NOT recommend carter paint & body! 1/2/2012

I took my car there to get fixed after I was in a car accident and the owner was SO nice, he made me feel comfortable leaving my car to get repaired. However a week and a half later I went to pick up my car and they didn't cover ANYTHING in plastic! The inside of my car was filled with DUST and paint was ALL over the inside if my car and on my floor mats....my peddles were even white from them stepping in my car with paint on their shoes! I had picked up my car at night so it was hard to see the work they did, but the next morning the ""touch ups"" they did turned baby blue and my car is white! The molding on the inside was NOT SEALED correctly and the molding on my door was WAY out of porportion compared to the other side! Of course I was so DISSAPOINTED with the work they did I called to bring my car back. Unfortunately the woman I had to speak with was RUDE and SARCASTIC. She told me that their excuse was because they were ""busy"" they ran out if time. How UNPROFESSIONAL. After another 6 hours, they managed to re-seal the inside, re-adjusted the outide molding and removed their ""touch up paint"" sadly, their idea of ""cleaning"" is getting a DIRTY rag to wipe down the inside if my car. And refused to clean anything but A floor mat and one side of my door. I understand that the entire car did not need to be cleaned, but you think for my inconvience they would at least do it to try and make a unhappy customer somewhat happy. I am thankful that the things I can't fix are fixed and I can clean the inside myself since they obviously can't. The woman in charge, and the mechanic I dealt with we're unbelievably rude, sarcastic, and SLOPPY. I do NOT recommend anyone risk their car turning into a dusty tornado from these sloppy unprofessionals. more

Great Body Shop! 12/12/2011

My car looks better than it did before the accident! The shop was very communicative and worked around my schedule. Steve personally took the bull by the horns and worked with the insurance company who was trying to give the run around; it was great to have an advocate! The time frame my car was in their shop was shorter than expected. Overall, I am very impressed with the professional service and outcome of the work. I would definitely recommend these guys! more

Quick, Clean,,, Happy are we! 10/28/2011

Could not ask for more! After a review (for 45 minutes) with the insurance covering a cell phone using coed that ran a red light and damaged my left front. . .I went to Carter. Thorough review, commitment to be quick, and Carter got the job. It cost a lot more than the insurance company first estimate, and I wonder what they would have covered up in their shop... ""Car"" is better than what we started with. I'd recommend them to any friend. more

Happy with their job so far! 9/8/2011

This review is for minor repair I've had on my car done in this body shop. My car had a big dent on the back bumper, that have been fixed very good. They gave me estimate for 3 different options, for how far to go with the repair . So, for what we chose and paid for ($92), I believe it couldn't be better. Again the work done defiantly went above my expectation. I've read some opinions about the owner. I think he tries his best, as much as his personality allows him to keep his customers happy. I hope this help! more

Inaccurate Work, Worst Customer Service I have ever experien 10/19/2009

I brought my VW GTI into Carter Paint and Body in May of 2009 after my car had been hit in the middle of the night while parked on the curb outside of my house. The impact had caused some severe body and mechanical damage towards the front passenger side of my car. After the 30 days it was at Carter's, I received my car back and noticed a noise coming from the front passenger side. The headlight was also very dim compared to the other side. I called the garage manager within 2 days of getting my car back to tell him about this noise and light and he told me he had outsourced the work to Firestone and to contact them to fix the problem. The garage manager had also previously texted me asking me for a date, and I politely turned him down. This is probably the reason he told me to go to Firestone and not to bring my car back to Carter's. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Firestone was able to fix the suspension problems that were missed in the original repair, but they told me that the light was experiencing electrical problems that they were not equipped to fix, so they recommended that I have VW check it out. My insurance company told me to proceed with bringing my car to VW. Under normal circumstances, I would have contacted the original body shop, but they did poor work to begin with and the garage manager had made me feel very uncomfortable. I was following the order of procedures recommended by my insurance company. It was determined at VW that the problem with the light occurred in the original repair at Carter (since they were the last one's to have the light assembly out) and that my insurance could not cover it since it had already paid Carter's for that work. This is when things got really ugly. Per VW's advice, I contacted the owner of Carter's and asked that she or one of her technicians look at my car while it was pulled apart at VW. She refused to do this. She said she was not responsible for the damage since I had taken the car to two other shops. Though I see some logic in her argument, it was her garage manager that told me to go to Firestone in the first place. I was simply asking her to look at the car with VW so she could assume responsibility for the repair if it was indeed her shop's fault. She handled my request in an extremely unprofessional fashion and got very defensive, she told me I led her mechanic on (totally untrue) and that the suspension problems I experienced as soon as I got my car back were because ""I must've ran over something and didn't notice."" Seriously? I asked her for a copy of the original receipt and she hung up on me!!! I ended up having to pay $1000 to get my light fixed. I have never encountered a more unprofessional business than Carter Paint and Body. To summarize: 1. They did not perform sufficient work on my car. 2. They have no customer service. They don't return calls. They ""guarantee"" their work is a total lie. 3. The owner is very rude and would not work with me in resolving the issue in a professional civilized manner. I have never in my life written an online review, but I really feel the need to warn anyone out there that is looking for a professional body shop to STAY AWAY FROM CARTER PAINT AND BODY. They are not BBB certified and if something goes wrong, you will most likely be paying for it. Be extra wary of the sleazy staff if you are a woman reading this. Top notch Quality, Fair Pricing & Straight Talk 6/29/2009

I came to Carter's on a recommendation from my neighbor. Glad I did. Twice we had to have our beloved BMW 5 series restored to it's orginal beauty after a couple of unfortunate accidents. Each time our baby looked brand new again!\r \r I loved the personal attention that comes from being a family owned shop. The owner, Steve, gave us a great run down of what our options would be for parts & what to expect from the insurance. I appreciated the straight talk & the finished product was top quality!\r \r It's nice to know I have a ""go to"" place for all our body shop needs and won't have to worry about feeling ""ripped off"" again!
