BEWARE of this horrific place! 8/17/2012

If you want poor customer service, charges for technician's mistakes, lies, & to get your car back in worse condition than you left it, take your vehicle to Carrsmith. Where do I begin?! My Jaguar wouldn't start; Carrsmith came up online as a Jaguar repair shop & I had gotten the oil changed there before. Had the car towed to Carrsmith. They ran diagnostics for two days, couldn't figure anything out. When ever I wanted a status update I had to initiate the call. I communicated primarily with Lisa. I was initially told diagnostics was $100, then told they had to do "extensive" diagnostics which would be $300; I refused to authorize $300 diagnostics at that dump! I went on justanswer.com to communicate with a live Jaguar technician. I forwarded that info to Ken and Lisa via email. They never responded to me, but I checked with the technician working on my car and he said they tried those suggestions, it didn't work, and he didn't know what was wrong with the car. Neither Ken nor Lisa has EVER admitted that they could not fix the car. They finally figured out what was wrong with the car and told me total repair would be $1176, which I couldn't afford. We were all set to fix the major issue for $804. The day I was going to pick the car up, I get a call that there was another issue found and the new price was $949, fine. It was a Friday and I was told parts would arrive on Monday and the car would be ready Monday afternoon. I get a call Monday that they ordered the wrong part and I had to pay for the mistake, to the tune of an extra $150 AND car wouldn't be ready until Tuesday (eight days after I had it towed there). As soon as I could, I returned the ant-infested loaner car they gave me (with no gas might I add) & had the car towed to another AAA-approved auto repair shop in town (read my review of Continental Imports). By the time my car left Carrsmith, all of the rear and trunk panels were misplaced and in a dissarray, wires were hanging, sound wouldn't work, & gas level was down by nearly half! Beware!! more

Total Ripoff STAY AWAY! 5/14/2011

This place is a total ripoff! I went in because my airbag light was on (the airbag system is disabled when this happens). I paid $75 for them to check it. Then they informed me that they want to check the alternator. Since they dont have to equipment to check it onsite, they wanted $100 to take it out and take it to another shop and the car would be out of commission for a day plus, i said no... because Auto Zone can check it for FREE! After i said no they told me that it is a problem with the battery cable and that i have to change the cable and the entire harness.... which would cost me over $550 and the car would be out of commission for about 2 weeks... Crazy right? Since I had to leave Gainesville that week for the summer i told them i cant do it. They gave me the keys and the airbag light didn't stay on.. strange right? they fixed the problem but they still wanted to charge me.. I ran back it to tell them that its working fine no and they told me i still need to change my battery cable (since the battery got charged the problem was fixed). I took it to auto zone and found out that my battery was not up to snuff and changed it for around $80 it took 20 min and its been working great for over 3 weeks now.. If only i would have paid what they wanted... TOTAL RIPOFF! Stay Away.. oo also the $75 that they charged me.. they didnt add tax. which means that they really dont care about playing by the rules... more

great! 10/3/2005

we trust these people with all of our cars. They've always called before performing major or minor repairs on our car to get our approval beforehand. In other words, you will have no surprise charges with them. More importantly, they have always been cheaper than the dealership, and when your respective dealership is 80 miles away, this works out great! more
