I went to this practice for eight years. I went into labor on my due date and my doctor never told me that he was going to be out of town on vacation during my due date… I understand doctors have vacations, that was not the problem. The problem was he didn't have a common courtesy to let me know that a complete stranger at the hospital will be delivering my baby . so it was a little shocking, in labor, at 3 o'clock in the morning to be told my doctor went out of town on vacation days ago. Talk about having no respect for your patient! Year after year I schedule an appointment for my yearly exam everything and year after year I get a call the same day or the day before that I'll pay she went into labor and you had to be rescheduled and then I couldn't get in for another three months and then I would get rescheduled again… One time it took me a year and a half to actually make it in for my annual pelvic exam. That's outrageous! If you're not pushing out a baby they're not interested in your lady parts! Then the day came when I actually found out I had a problem and I had to have a procedure done… First they sent me for tests and after a month I still could not get my test results from them problem then the day came when I actually found out I had a problem and I had to have a procedure done… First they sent me for tests and after a month I still could not get my test results from them!! And then I couldn't get in to have my procedure done for two months and then right before my procedure was supposed to be done, they called to reschedule me. They couldn't get me in again for at least a month but I told them thanks but no thanks I'm finding a new doctor. And by the way, still didn't get my test results from them! These people do not care about your health. Go somewhere else. more

After finding out I was pregnant I made an appointment with midwife Nancy Prothero. At meeting her she seemed nice but I quickly found out the type of provider she actually is. I unfortunately had a miscarriage which alone was difficult but she made it unbearable! I had repeat ultrasounds (not done in the office because they don't have the proper equipment) and she only gave me feedback after DAYS / a week without acknowledging I'd even been seen and ONLY after I called her and even though the information was sent as a stat to her to return to me as quickly as possible. She never explained anything to me in detail just apologized for my loss and pushed me into the direction of a medical miscarriage. After deciding to take her advice & trust her because she is a midwife and I'd never had a miscarriage before. She prescribed me the proper medication and when I called back to explain it did not work properly I found out she had left the office for the WEEK and gave me no follow up or further instructions! I had to find another provider in the office to work with me in what to do next! Besides being a difficult time she made it even more stressful! Please do yourself a favor and see someone else who actually cares about your health and will be there to explain properly what is taking place! The only reason I am receiving proper care is due to another provider taking my case. Her and I are extremely lucky nothing horrible went wrong. Never again will I be seeing or putting my health in her hands! more

I went to this office for my first pregnancy and was forced into induction for convenience. The OB explained risks of waiting for natural labor past the due date, but not the risks of induction, which are much worse if you are healthy and being induced for no reason! I allowed it because they used scare tactics, my induction was a nightmare and they ended up performing a completely unnecessary c-section. That OB left the practice a few years later so with my 3rd child, 2nd VBAC, I asked questions about having a VBAC again and they were supportive of it. I used them again, even though I agree with the other reviewers and the office is not well-organized or professional. My second experience was only better in terms of my own choices, because even though I brought a birth plan it was smirked at and turned away; one doctor even began suggesting induction before I was even past due even though induction in a VBAC patient has been known to cause much greater risk of uterine rupture. I refused, he sent me for monitoring only to find out that I was already having contractions! Still, they encouraged pitocin (for what reason? no one could tell me) and refused to allow me off the monitor or out of the bed. I labored in intense pain, finally accepted medication that made me nearly incoherent, and then yet another OB showed up for the pushing stage. She said literally ten words to me the entire time, most of which included "stop talking and push", and actually had a whole group of nurses hold my legs back at my ears while I was flat on my back during pushing. It was painful and terrifying, and she ignored my pleas to let me change position. I was so weak and exhausted I barely made it through that labor, even though my baby and I were healthy. My husband and I were extremely dissatisfied and would NEVER use this practice again. I encourage you, especially if you are attempting VBAC, to find a different office that allows a less dehumanizing, impersonal experience! more

I have gone there for probably 6 years. The nurses and staff are mean. I have had several cancelled appointments. One of the most interesting experiences was when they called to cancel my appointment since i had my son, only i still had another 4 weeks to go and was still pretty pregnant. They have claimed i had more children then i already had. I has mixed up several times with another person. I would not get test results. Once when i called about a miscarriage the nurse was nasty and mean. I just cannot bring myself to go back. I have had enough. more

I had a son almost 3 years ago with this team off drs. staff is the worst i have ever come in contact with at any drs. office and drs. do a terrible job of calming the nerves and making sure you feel well informed. I had a very difficult labor and feel like it would and should have been different. dr took a phone call while i was pushing. timing could not been worse. i lost all respect and faith and have not been back since my 6 weekcheck up after my son was born. more

The receptionists and nurses are rude and uncaring, they never let you speak to a doctor, the doctors rush through appts. and act as if nothing is a concern...they never call with test results even if they are abnormal, I am so concerned about the health of my unborn baby because they keep dismissing my concerns even though I have genuine diagnosed conditions that can cause preterm labor, that I am switching to a different provider at 34 weeks. more

Chose for close location to home and work. I would have been better off driving 2 hours for an appointment. Waiting times on the phone, and in office are ridiculous. They have also violated HIPPA policies by giving out information to unauthorized parties. Would not reccomend. more

I found this practise unorganized. I started making an appointment in June and finally got in November. They canceled several times including a doctor who left the practise. The first time exam was cold and sterile. I am now waiting 3 1/2 weeks for a pap to come back. I was told by the doctor I would get a written notice. I called the office today and they said if I didn't get a call all is well. I said, "That is not good enough. I want a verbal acknowledgement of my pap results." I will be looking for a new practise next year's annual!!!! more

I've had 3 abnormal paps and never got a call from the office. I always found out after I'd waited to hear back for weeks and then made the call myself! more

I love the physicians in this practice, however have found the staff to be rude and unprofessional. I have been a patient for 10+ years but have had enought of the staff in this office. more

The Worse I have ever been treated in any doctor offices. I feel like they are trying take my money; never giving my doctor my phone messages & making me have to come into the office just to talk to my doctor...when i really have something wrong. The nurses there could care less if you really have a emergency or not. more

This practice is in utter disarray. The receptionists think they have a medical degree and rarely let you talk to a nurse much less get through to a doctor. I also find that every website and phone recording promotes them taking on more patients. I find that funny as they can not even give good care to their current patients. I have a serious questions as to their way of doing things. It is horrible. If you care about your wife and unborn child. Take them to Howard County!! more

I love this team! They are the most professional, reliable, and friendly in Carroll COunty. Their reputation is notorious for being the best. I switched to them 12 weeks into my pregnancy after being unhappy with another local OB. I was completely satisfied for the rest of my pregnancy and will be sticking with them for my next one! They are very friendly, have great office staff, and they don't make you feel bad for having questions and concerns. I would highly reccomend them to anyone looking for a great local OBGYN! more
