Carolina Inn

I've been to the Carolina Inn a few times for group meals. It's a really nice, classy atmosphere, so you expect a lot with your food, However, each time I was disappointed. My vegetarian meal was the exact same as the non-vegetarian meal, minus the meat. I expected a little more. The prices are also way too expensive. The best thing about my whole meal was the dessert. more

The Carolina Inn, located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is charming and historic. It is listed with the National Registry of Historic Places. The inn is owned by the University now, graciously given to the University by its owner, a graduate of the University. Thee Inn was updated in 1996, so it has all the modern amenities, but still retains its charm from days of old. more

This is THE place to stay while visiting Chapel Hill. Walking distance to the downtown bustle on Franklin and located on campus- you will be right in the middle of everything! Friday afternoons- they have a band and drinks- great place to gather with friends! The hotel is ELEGANT!! Lots of weddings, and formal events are hosted here. Overall, this place is awesome!! more

The Carolina Inn is truly a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Other than the wonderful service and cozy atmosphere, the main draw is the convenience of the location. It is located on UNC chapel hill's campus and is one block away from Franklin Street (main street in this college town). The Inn also would be a nice location for a wedding reception or any party. They host many special events like teas. If you would prefer to hang out in mesh shorts and a tshirt, then you probably don't want to stay here. It can be a bit stuffy and proper. If you have the money to stay here or if someone else is paying, then it is really a nice place. more

in the heart of Chapel Hill. Close to the university and to all games fball, bball, etc. A block from Franklin Street and across the street from campus. The staff is very friendly and helpful from the bellmen/valet to the front desk and concierge. They have a small fitness center on site, but access to a 24 hour fitness center a couple miles away. The hotel restuarant, Crossroads, is impeccable! The rooms can be small as with any historic hotel. If you get in late request a handicaped room and if you have the money go with a suite - they are refurnished and will take your breath away. A must stay if you are in Chapel Hill. Make reservations early in the Spring and Summer they fill up here quick. And unless you've booked a year out, forget getting in here for football season! more
