I needed help with updating my resume for a future internship I would like to apply to. Lane and I met for about an hour. She gave me very good feedback about how to improve my current resume. I liked that she took my words and made notes all over the original one I gave her. We talked about what it should look like so that we would be on the same page. We agreed on a date that she would send me the draft. I received the draft yesterday and was blown away by the wording. It was me, but it sounded so much better! We emailed back and forth about a few questions to polish it, and it is really an awesome document. I feel very proud of it. The head resume writer seemed very nice and knowledgeable and did write a well organized sheet of my work history. It gave me better ideas of how a resume can be organized. She also couldn't spell a couple commonly used words, and there were extra spaces in words and before commas. I told her it looked like a draft and asked for the final, but all she would say is that I have the final review. No kidding, it's a text document so I can change it myself? On my first appointment I realized very quickly Lane has an extremely strong personality and is a talker, which is great. The only reason I chose to rate my experience with her as a 4 star is because at times I felt like I was competing to be heard and this is crucial when you are trying to translate your visions for a resume. I also at one point felt very uncomfortable when she denied to agree to disagree. It seemed a bit confrontational, and I opted to walk out at that point. However, after we got back on a more professional level things were smooth sailing. I understand people can have off days and I hesitated whether or not to share.
