Beware of Misinformation, Upselling, and Scare tactics. \r
\r
Today 06/04/2014 I visited the Car-X at 8274 Culebra Rd. San Antonio, TX. 78251 with a Groupon deal that I purchased for $18.50. The deal was for 5W-20 fully synthetic oil and standard filter. I was informed that the manufacture recommended 0W-20 and was given a quote for an additional $25 to get the ""correct"" oil. I declined the recommendation at which point another representative made a disapproving sound which I'm sure was made to make me feel like I was making a major mistake. Furthermore, I was told that 5W-20 ""did not go"" in my car and then was asked to sign a document stating that I they would not be held responsible for any damaged caused by the 5W-20 oil, a scare tactic that I don't appreciate. \r
Had I sent my wife to get the oil changed she could have be upsold using these scare tactics resulting in a 135% increase over my original purchase! \r
\r
How can I trust a company that lies? I CAN?T, and neither should you. I can?t trust them to actually perform the services that I paid for. How do I know that they didn?t get upset and decided not to change the oil filter or decided to put a completely different oil than what was requested. I personally will never do business with this location or any Car-X location, ever! \r
\r
I understand the need to increase sales but you CAN?T do it at the expense of your customers and your reputation. \r
\r
Do a google search for the ?truth about 5W-20 and 0W-20 motor oil? and you?ll find an article regarding the difference between these two oil weights. \r
