The NYTimes and the Miami Herald were right on! 8/12/2009

This place is my lucky charm. I'm in Real Estate and I closed three deals this month there. What a welcoming environment. My clients love it and the food. Can’t say enough about their fun way of creating Mojitos. It’s like being in the world’s biggest Florida Room!!!!! I'll be there at least twice a week, lunch or dinner, doesn’t matter. It is the perfect place to close a deal what ever industry you are in. Pros: Run, don't walk!!! Cons: None, they even provide computers!!!!! more

Here's the deal! 8/12/2009

I travel a lot between New York and Miami and delays are inevitable. But NOW who cares?!? If my delay is two hours or more I just go outside the airport terminal and ride the free shuttle over to the Marriot hotel and enjoy my delay at Cane Fire Grill. It takes about 2.5 minutes each way! This is the best kept secret in Miami. The food (lots to chose from) is always quick and wonderful and a Mojito or two never hurt anyone waiting for a flight! YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE! Pros: 2.5 minutes from Airport and free shuttle service more

Best Hotel Restaurant Food 8/11/2009

I travel constantly and was shocked that it is a stone's throw from MIA, the restaurant itself is totally hip, interesting, and very beautiful. I had a simple BLT. But, when it is served with staff that showed up the moment I sat down, on sour dough bread (lightly toasted, mayo on the side), and FRESHLY cut local fruit........well, I was thrilled. My ice tea glass was magically refreshed without me asking. I am going to recommend this to everyone I know, and believe me, I know a lot of foodies who will love this. Wow, the Marriott has totally upgraded. Well done. I will be back with the masees. Thanks for taking such great care. Oh, and have the local ice cream from a company called Gaby's. Lychee ice cream, are you kidding me!!!! Oh, and the price was just too reasonable........ Pros: beautiful, friendly, great hotel fare Cons: Zero more

My new favorite place 8/6/2009

Went last night for the first time. Nice place to hang out and not feel rushed through a dinner. The malta braised short ribs are good, really good! Ceviche with popcorn patties was delicious. Never had anything like that before but will again. Pros: Will go back with my laptop to work away from my office more

Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun and Very Affordable 8/5/2009

I started going to Cane Fire Grill for my celebrity sighting fixes. It's amazing how many miss their fights and waited it out at the Marriott. Queen Latifa was the best but after my first dinner there – WOW!!! I was hooked. Happy Hour is always filled with a fun crowd. Mojitos made from real sugar cane, appetizers so good (I usually get the sampler) I rarely make it to a dinner entrée. They have Gaby’s sorbets and ice creams. Pros: No South Beach Attitude or Prices Cons: None more

Savor Locally Inspired Nuevo Latin Cuisine at Miami's Cane Fire Grille

Editorial
  • Forget everything you know about airport hotel eateries. This tropical explosion packs enough Floribbean flair to make Marriott guests wonder if they accidentally got on a wrong connection and wound up in the Caribbean or Latin America. Diners sit in lounge-like booths or communal tables and dig into passport-tugging menu offerings like ham-wrapped grouper, Bermuda fish chowder, and a surf and turf sandwich that pairs up swordfish with Serrano ham slices. The crowd consists mostly of overnight guests with plans of flying away the next day, but the ambitious menu wins over the occasional local.
