It's just plain bad. what can i say? No matter what time of day i go, there is only one teller to handle the multiple customers sending or trying to receive packages. And F.Y.I they HATE their jobs, you can tell by their attitude towards any form of questioning that the customer has, and towards YOU the one who should be the one angered at the failure of their postman duties.
I have a notice on my downstairs front door to the building in large printed font when expecting a delivery, that either A) please call me at # because i know they won't walk up stairs and i'd voluntarily go down myself or B) please deliver it next door to the store. They ignore it, go into my building see that there are stairs and they simply leave a notice saying ""failure to pickup"" or ""failure for signature.""
They also fail to ever give notices on time. There was a total of 6 times that a notice to tell me ""to pick up before this date or returns to seller"" TWO weeks AFTER it was already sent back. And of course, i have to have a notice slip before i can even pick up the item.
Over the time span of 5 years, i have yet to successfully receive any packages from USPS, i literally groan when a seller or supplier claims the shipment has been sent through USPS knowing full well that from this location at 350 canal street i'll have to end up picking it up myself, and now i throughly rely on either fedex or UPS. But i guess i should thank them, for the amount of excercise they allow me to do to go down there and pick up my package and lug it all the way back is great, and you don't even have to pay them a membership fee!
However if you have the rare chance to have a good teller, you'll be able to get whatever you need done in a jiffy, and if you don't. Be ready to play the patience game.
Pros: If you get the nice tellers, you'll get what you need done.
Cons: If you don't, you'll be playing the patience game.
