Our dog LOVES Camp Bow Wow! 9/7/2011

Our 16 month old Boxer, Clyde, LOVES Camp Bow Wow! Whenever we tell him he will be going to camp he gets very excited. All of the counselors there treat him like a very special boy. You can tell that they like interacting with the dogs. And we like that you can watch throughout the day on the webcam to see how much fun he is having. more

Good Time for Rocket Dog 7/31/2011

We take our dog there every week for Playtime and then when we're out of town we board him as well. The staff all knows him and he loves the attention. Love the cameras so we can look in on him during the day. Convenient location and hours for us to pick him up and drop him off. Purchase the packages, your dog will want to go back. more

Service with a smile everytime 12/14/2007

I would recommend Camp Bow Wow to dog owners who really desire and appreciate great service and care for pets. Camp Bow Wow is a great place to take your pet to hangout for a day or several days. The staff is the greatest and really makes the camp a loveable place for dogs. While I highly recommend the camp, I would like to see the camp move to a large facility with a large outdoor area so that dogs can run and exercise more. As for the camp cost, it's a little pricey for me, but some how I scrape together the money so that my dog can take a beak from the family and me. Thanks. more

Take your dog to Camp Bow Wow! 12/11/2007

I have looked around the raleigh/durham area for the best daycare for my dog, and camp bow wow is by far the best service for me. My dog gets plenty of exercise, has a nap time, all while on-line cameras allow me to check up on her whenever I want from work. I highly recommend it. more

Camp Bowwow - Durham - Page Rd. Extension 12/10/2007

CBW is at a convenient location, well kept facility and has friendly staff. Hours of operation allow for seven days a week dog day care. Payment options work well as you buy daily passes as opposed to weekly, or monthly fees. The only additional service that would be nice is grooming; they offer only baths right now. When you stop in don't forget to lean over the counter and say hi to the little guys there. more

A great find 12/7/2007

Camp Bow Wow has been a great find for my family. I regularly use them for both day camp and overnight boarding and have had a great experience with both. The staff greet my dogs and I by name each visit and never make me feel like just another customer. I like the ability to see wht they are up to on the doggy cams and can verify that they are always being supervised. They come home each time well exercised and socialized. Thank you!! more

Banned from Day Care! 10/13/2006

This refers to the Bennet Road Bow Wow If your dog does well with a lot of other dogs running around all day, in a pretty noisy big room, then this is a great fun place. Dogs can go inside and out, it's very clean, and in the summer there are water toys. Concerned parents can watch their dogs on the Internet via WebCam. Totally great for the modern dog parent. However, my dog, a somewhat anxious pup went to Bow Wow for several weeks. She passed the temperament testing. One day, she cleared the six foot fence separaing the rooms and was thus banned from the facility. I saw her clear the fence in the video when I came to pick her up. When I asked why, the staff said "we were hoping you'd tell us." Uh...but I'd never seen her clear a fence. I asked for the piece of the video that showed her jump and was told, sure, I could have it no problem. It never came, was told it it was sent, it's in the mail, blah blah. It was never sent to me, and after several attempts, telephone calls which were unanswered, I gave up. I guess this is the thing that I dislike about the whole operation. I appreciate that I got a full refund. I wish I had known before rather than after the fact that I could ask for my pet to have a rest - my thought is that she got overstimulated by all the noise and activity. If you have a dog that is sensitive to noise and who doesn't rest easily, then this may not be for your dog. If you don't like turnkey operations and cutesy stuff, then this might drive you nuts. I love my dog dearly, but she is a "dog." I don't mind that my dog was banned from daycare, either. It was not the best solution for her. I do mind the unprofessional behavior. Incomplete correspondence, telling me that they were sending me the video when it clearly wasn't, not returning emails or phone calls. At the time that we were there, I found the staff ok, customer service I'd give a D+. Having said that, I think it's a fine solution for some dogs. It's not a good solution for mine, and that's ok. If it works for you, and you never come up upon any special circumstances, then that's great. The price is right, and there are discounts for many area employees. more

WARNING for dog owners 4/20/2006

I have recently experienced a situation this Easter weekend, where my dog (black lab) was either bit or scratched by another dog at Camp Bow Wow, in Durham. The owner Neil was unable to verify how and when this deep cut (needing stitches) happened, but was very clear that he wasn't responsible for the vet bill. Dog owners beware of this reality that they don't seem too concerned if something were to happen to your pet while staying there or whether you may get slapped with a $400.00 bill for the vet services. His answer to me was, "it's just dogs being dogs." I also noticed another dogs hair on my pets bed that we provided. One of the policies they have, states that each dog gets their own space when they sleep. My concern is how true that statement is, and what might have happened on this busy Holiday weekend? I've been to several dog daycares and this was the most expensive and less trustworthy experience to date. Either way I guess what happened was my problem to deal with, that was my lesson. more

perfect kennel for the concerned dog lover 3/20/2006

This is place is wonderful for dogs and owners. I really like the webcam. Makes the separation anxiety easier to bear. The prices are reasonable and they give discounts for multiple dogs. The staff is caring and I really appreciate that they have a testday, during which they check the temperament of the dog to make sure that all dogs are compatible. more

Your dog will love you for this! 3/19/2006

Camp Bow Wow is a wonderful place for boarding a dog. The dogs play together in eight separate areas for most of the day. You can watch your dog play on a webcam. The people are really nice, the staff clearly loves dogs, and they give you a report card at the end of your dog's stay. They also offer doggie day camp if you need somewhere to leave your dog for a day. My dog is always so happy and tired when she comes home from Camp Bow Wow-- I love this place! more
