I had a terrible experience with this shop. They promised me my car back by Friday afternoon but did not deliver. They kept delaying the completion date/time but never gave me the courtesy of a call to give me an update on their progress. I always had to call them after they failed to make their stated completion time. When I did have to call, I didn’t appreciate the tone of voice that I was given. The “we’ll call you” attitude didn’t set well with me at all. I explained to them that my son had to get back home and needed the car ASAP. But rather than work with us and complete the job Saturday, they said that they didn't like to let other mechanics complete someone else’s job. Fine for them, but three days of work were missed because of their refusal to make adjustments in the spirit of customer service. They told me that the plugs, cap and rotor were “completely shot” but they had been replaced within the last couple thousand miles. I don’t think that was anything more than an attempt to pump up their sales. How could I trust what say when they do things like that? To top it off, when I did come in to pick up the car I learned that they don't include sales tax in their estimates. So the quote they give over the phone is less than the amount you owe when you pick up the car! This is very deceptive in my mind. No reputable company does this - none. I felt very deceived throughout the entire process. I won't be back. more

Camarillo Independent has great service, very good quality, and excellent professionalism. I really enjoy their kind of service. I've went to them for timing belt and other services, and they always offer me a ride home. They're very courteous, and when they say the job will be done, it's finished on time. more

Camarillo Independent is very customer oriented. They have treated me fairly, they have treated me well, and they are very professional. They have been excellent! My car has gone in there limping, and after all the repairs are done it comes out running. I haven't had any problems. Everything was professional in my experience. I was in and out in the time they told me it would take, and I was able to continue on with my day. They even offered me a shuttle if I needed, but I had someone with me. They also have a big, comfortable waiting room if you have to wait. more

The job that Camarillo Independent Auto Repair did was done on time and I have not had a problem with the car since I got it repaired. I found out about Camarillo Independent through a flier that came to the house. They have done tune-ups, brakes, smog checks, and wheel alignments. Because I had to, I have this business one star. If given a choice I'd give this business NO STARS at all. These people are dishonest and extremely mean. There's really something very wrong going on over there. I wouldn't trust them with my law mower, much less my vehicle (again). They serviced my vehicle, charging me for services they never performed and then when I called them on it, they screamed at me. I only wish I could get my money back because I had to take my vehicle to the dealership to finish the work. Don't trust them!!. Pros: Can't think of one...they work fast? \r As our 2002 Honda Accord fell out of warranty, we decided to use a local service repair shop recommended by the American Automobile Association (AAA) of Southern California. We decided to use Camarillo Independent Honda, Acura & Toyota Specialist at 1955 E. Daily Dr., Camarillo, CA 93010.\r \r We had the car serviced there about every 6 month over a period from March 2007 until October 2009. Each time we brought it in for service, the service charges averaged between $500-$600 per services, in large part due to other items found needing repair. Although not pleased with all the needed repairs, the car had 84,000 miles and figured some parts were just getting old. \r \r In October of 2009, the check engine light went on and when checked, they indicated that two sensors were bad due to a code reading of 1457 and 1739. Also, they recommended that the transmission fluid was very dirty and needed to be flushed. At first I authorized the repairs but after checking the codes on the internet, it indicated that a reset of the check engine light would be recommended first before any repairs to insure that it was not a false reading. I called back and ask that they not repair the car and I wanted to get a second opinion. They indicated the repairs were already in progress and to stop now would cost almost as much as the total amount of the repairs. \r \r Two month later the check engine light went off again. I took it to another repair shop recommended by a friend and the same codes, 1457 and 1739 were showing up again, the same ones supposedly replaced two months earlier. The new repair shop recommended resetting the check engine indicator and see if it comes back on. An AAA investigation of the repairs made at Camarillo Independent is now under way.\r \r What was of equal concern, after reviewing our records, it turns out Camarillo Independent recommended and performed a transmission flush on March 2008 and recommended and performed it again on October 2009. Two transmission flushes were recommended in less than 19 months and with less than 10,000 additional miles on the car. Additionally, Honda, as it turns out, does not recommend any transmission flushes for the Honda Accord. There was also third invoice in December 2008 where they had recommended a transmission flush and I had told them it was just flushed. The technician noted on the invoice ”No transmission service, just did with us”. Evidently, transmission flushes are a very common item to be added to the services. \r \r Because it was an AAA recommended shop, I had assumed a certain level of integrity regarding the services preformed but as it turned out, this was a mistake and wanted to alert others. \r \r \r \r \r \r \r more

I will never take my car to Camarillo Independent ever again. I had a major service performed. They never checked my tire pressure and two tires were at less then half the recommended PSI. They always recommend unneeded services and when I question their integrity they yell at me and tell me I don't know what I am talking about. I highly do not recommend them.
