After yesterday's post I received a prompt and gracious response from the owner. Although my wife and I have not had a chance to give Cake Crumbs a second chance, we are impressed by the owner's vigilance and quick action. We will try Cake Crumbs again (before 2PM) and hope to report that the food is as good as the local, neighborhood atmosphere. more

This is a cute spot with a nice variety of baked goods but we found the service to be horrible. If you order anything that involves the kitchen be prepared for a long wait. They apparently have one poor soul in the back that services all of the food orders while several other people just mill around up by the front counter. Waiting 20 minutes to get a bagel with a smear is ridiculous. We were so annoyed that we won't be going back. Pros: looks like a cute place Cons: really SLOW service more

Last December, Cake Crumbs made a gorgeous, delicious calla lily cake for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding. A year later found them living in Florida, far from friends and family, and looking for ways to make Anniversary #1 memorable. Local requests to make the almond/raspberry cake they'd had here were turned down, hands down. Contacted Cake Crumbs, and arrangements were made for a complimentary first anniversary cake to be delivered to Pensacola. Happy happy. Thanks, Denon! I love the cupcakes here! They are always so moist (which, for some reason, other bakeries can't seem to figure out -- except Mulberries, which is my other fave). Their flavors are unique. Their customer service is always friendly. I'm not a fan of their chocolate chip cookie: I like milk chocolate (they claim to use semi-sweet, but I swear it tastes like bittersweet to me). We used Cake Crumbs for our wedding cake and were a bit disappointed. Two of the three tiers were good, but the tier I was most looking forward to was horrible. Of course, it was the tier that we cut for the cake feeding. Everyone who had that cake commented to us about how dry the cake was. We also we not impressed with the design of the cake. We asked for a quilt-like pattern and it looked like something I would do (which is not good). We also had our monogram on the cake. We were under the impression that it was going to be a script monogram, but it was printed and box letters. I did contact Denon after the wedding to let her know about the problem with the cake and she did apologize and said she didn't know why the cake was so dry. She also offered to make us a cake free of charge for our next event. On the plus side, Denon is great to work with and is very helpful. Pros: great icing on cake Cons: not what we had asked more

I ordered a cake from Cake Crumbs for a bridal shower after searching for bakeries online. Another highly recommended bakery wouldn't even call me back and I always had to leave a message. There was always someone answering the phone at Cake Crumbs. Already, they were high on my list. I gave an idea for what I wanted on the cake and Denon came up with a great creation! It was a perfect combination of beach theme and bridal theme. When I picked up the cake, all of the employees in the shop were very friendly and the shop itself was very inviting. The cake itself was like none I'd had before. It was delicious in it's own way. I liked the high density of the cake and the butter cream frosting was very light, not overwhelmingly sweet. The cookies and cream filling took it over the top. Everyone at the shower loved it! I will definitely use Cake Crumbs again. Pros: easy to find more

We were struggling to find a bakery that would work with our budget for our wedding, until we met Denon. She was polite and professional from the beginning, and she was very helpful while working with us on possible flavor choices. We met for our cake tasting and wow!! We had a blast sampling the cakes and sitting and talking with Denon in her cute little bakery. We felt very confident that she would do a good job on our wedding cake, especially after watching all of the happy customers flow in and out of the bakery while we were there. Our cake turned out exactly as we wanted- moist, fresh, and perfectly decorated. We received many compliments on it from guests. It was delivered and set up on time, along with a little wedding gift from Denon and her husband. What a thoughtful and sweet extra touch! We were able to provide our guests with generous portions of delicious cake, at a very very reasonable price. We highly highly recommend ordering your wedding cake from Cake Crumbs! We were looking for someone to make our wedding cake, and were very tired of shopping around. The day we went to Cake Crumbs, we were very impressed by Denon's down to earth and friendly attitude. She was so eager to provide exactly what we wanted, and at the time we weren't quite sure. Her cake tasting was perfect, because she was able to help us narrow down our decision by making three mini cakes of OUR choice, which made it fun and easy. The day of our wedding, we received so many compliments on how fabulous the cake looked and how tasty it was! We will certainly refer people to Denon any opportunity we can! If you want great customer service, yummy cake, and a very simple ordering process Cake Crumbs is the way to go. After numerous high priced and no show bakers, we found Denon and were so pleased! We went to Cake Crumbs after we were sorely disappointed with almost all the other Denver bakeries. Due to food allergies, we couldn't have a wedding cake sweetened with sugar. Rather than looking at us like we were crazy, Denon took it as a challenge and did an amazing carrot cake sweetened with Splenda. The cake was fabulous, as was her creativity and artistry. We had a wonderful experience, and everyone at our wedding was blown away by the cake, and we'd recommend Cake Crumbs to anyone and everyone. more

We ordered our wedding cake through Cake Crumbs after coming into the bakery for a free tasting. Denon actually baked us some mini-cakes to sample with flavors that we thought we would like...and each one was so amazing!!! It was difficult to narrow down our favorite but what we ended up with was probably the best cake I have ever tasted!! We knew what style of wedding cake we were interested in, but didn't know exactly how to create the look, and after sending Denon a couple of pictures of other cakes we liked, she created exactly the look we were going for--it was amazing! She was by far the easiest person to work with throughout the entire wedding planning experience. I highly recommend Cake Crumbs!!!! Not only is Cake Crumbs one of the more reasonably priced bakeries, but they were also willing to put together whatever we wanted for our wedding cake. We also ordered party platters with cookies and brownies and to be honest, those were a bigger deal at our wedding than the wedding cake. That's not to say that the wedding cake was not amazing, because I received lots of compliments on the cake as well. But, the cookie and brownie platters that Denon put together were great for people to munch on during cocktail hour and they tasted amazing. I am so thankful that I went with Cake Crumbs because they were very flexible with what we wanted and they were more than willing to try new recipes for us. more

I am from Augusta, GA and wanted to surprise a good friend here in Denver. I emailed the shop first and received a return call from her. Within minutes I had placed my order, given them the date I wanted to have the cake delivered. Denon assured me the cake would be delivered on the correct date. A few days before the delivery date, they emailed me to assure me the cake would be delivered on time. I work in outside sales for a company in Augusta, GA and customer service is very important to me as a salesperson. I commend Cake Crumbs highly for their great customer service. I have ordered from Cake Crumbs twice, and both times have been excellent beyond words! The first time I got a polka dot cake ? chocolate with chocolate fudge filling, white frosting with all kinds of colored polka dots on top! Delicious and beautiful. The second time I needed something different ? a robot cake! They did an absolutely amazing job on this cake! They did the whole robot, arms, legs, even antennas! Chocolate cake, chocolate fudge frosting and peanut butter chocolate chip filling! It tasted so yummy, so rich! Definitely a great place to get a cake. They went with my crazy whims, moved dates, and even had the cake waiting after hours at their neighbors shop! I won?t ever get a cake from a grocery store again! Hip, fun, and great! I highly recommend Cake Crumbs! I called many bakeries in the area to inquire about a special request: a healthy orange cake. Denon, the owner, was the only one willing to try. Her confidence and attitude won me over and I was ecstatic with the results. She already had an amazing orange cake recipe and simply used applesauce and other low-cal substitutes to modify it. I had two orange cakes made: one healthy with a sugar glaze and one full-calorie with cream cheese frosting. Both were major hits at the party. Denon was even willing to do a special request icing design: an oriental symbol that I emailed to her. The owners are very good at returning phone messages in a timely fashion and are very helpful. I couldn't be more happy with the results! more
