Good prices Pros: Good Pasta

We've enjoyed Caesar's for a while for moderately good Italian at decent prices, good service, and a pleasant, if a bit funky, atmosphere.

***DO NOT WATSE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE** 11/7/2010

I bought a fundraiser coupon booklet for which a coupon for this business was in this booklet for a free pizza, no purchase necessary. I drove all the way across town to use this coupon. When I got to this restaurant to place the order and use the coupon, they stated that they do not honor that coupon. They also stated the previous owner had printed that one and that restaurant is under new ownership and would not accept the coupon. It appears that the restaurant wants the advertisement exposure from the fundraiser booklet but do not want to honor the coupon, just possible extra foot traffic into the restaurant from the free or discounted advertisement from it.This creates bad exposure for future sells for the fundraiser booklets. If they don't care about the PR for their own business, at least think about the future lost sales and lost revenue for the fundraisers themselves and not misuse or mislead customers from the advertisement from those fundraiser booklets. more

Wow! This Place Has Gone WAY Downhill!! 8/25/2010

Eek! What happened to Caesar's? I gather that the real Caesar retired, and his son (or cousin or someone) took this place over and craftily renamed it Caesar's ""Bistro."" It could not be further from the good Italian restaurant that the original Caesar's was!! more

Real people, really great food 1/28/2010

When you walk in you thing ""OK this will be mediocre"". I am always blown away once I sit down when I visit this place from out of state. Yes it is not always packed like the chains that surround it. These folks work harder than most to make sure you are happy and that the food is excellent. Remember, it is very easy to get motivated to write a bad review but it is a challenge to sign up and write a good review. They had a great guitarist playing while I ate! Where do you get that these days??? The salad bar looked OK but once I tasted the dressing I knew it was homemade and I then knew I was in for a great meal. I ordered the scallops and I was worried they would not be fresh. Man were they great!!!!!! Cheers to all Pros: Always much better than expected Cons: Not in every town more

Great Inexpensive Lunch Buffet 1/7/2009

My friend and I went for the lunch buffet one weekday. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere-kinda homey. The staff was friendly and the food yummy. The selection was pretty good - many different types of pizzas and some other pastas and meatballs, salad, etc... I would recommend to anyone. Pros: Price, Good food more

Said 45 delivery time- Tried to deliver food 2.5 hours later! Charged anyway even though food was refused per Glenn ! 10/20/2008

I ordered food for a friend whose dad is in CCU in St. Thomas at 8:40 PM. Was promised 45 minute deliver. At 11:05 still no food! I called and Glenn, an employee there said to not accept the food. They tried to deliver the food at 11:15PM! My friend had to stay awake to NOT accept the food and had NO food to eat. Then they charged me anyway! Female manager said they didn't nothing wrong- no free dinner or anything. She said they did nothing wrong. If you want food in a normal time frame and NOT in 2.5 hours don't go here! After spending 3 hours on the phone with them on hold to order, cancel, and about the charge that shouldn't be we get nothing! more

65 BIRTHDAY TREAT FOR MOM 9/4/2008

My mother had her 65th birthday here today on September 4th. She said the food was great: cheese pasta, pizza, salad and cheddar broccoli soup. But, she said the coolest part of the experience was an Italian Birthday song, sung by no less than Cesar himself wearing a cake hat. He actually sung Happy Birthday in Italian, and it made her feel festive for the rest of the day! She also enjoyed the dessert, a wine glass full of ice cream delight. Thank you Cesear, et. al, for making my mother and family happy. Ed Childs, from Chicago, IL Pros: Music, best blend of Italian from Opera to Sinatra, Ceasar's Big Hug! Cons: They have it down pat! more

Excellent Italian! 6/22/2008

It looks like a strip mall hole-in-the-wall, but Caesar's offers very solid Italian food for a good price. Not too surprising since Caesar is a Sicilian immigrant by way of Brooklyn, NY. Their pizza is particularly good, especially if you like thin crust style pizzas like I do, and is no more expensive than lame pizza chain fare. Their meat sauces and ravioli were also particularly good. Service is pretty average, friendly but on the slow side and prone to minor errors. For best results avoid the lunch buffet and order off the menu so what you're getting is made fresh. Pros: Excellent pizzas, good Italian food generally Cons: Service on the slow side more

Good food 8/18/2007

We decided to put the reviews here to test and came out a little disappointed. While I wouldn't say that we didn't like the restaurant, the only thing that was amazing was the red sauce they use on their chicken parm. The atmosphere is tired (a bit dirty, needs repair and dated), the seating was what you'd find in cheap establishments (small uncomfortable chairs with run of the mill tables) but the service was good. The food however, seemed to be good all the way around. My wife wasn't impressed with the ""Taste of Italy"" dish. It wasn't bad, but not what we expected. The chicken parm comes recommended. Stay away from their cappuccino's...they're weak and they don't use filtered water...yuck! Pros: Great italian food, good service, ample parking, location Cons: Tired atmosphere, below par coffee's more

Awful Service 7/14/2007

I hadn't been to Caesar's in several years, so I looked forward to checking it out one Saturday night. My date and I were more than disappointed. To start, the food was only average. My meal began with a very basic (non-Italian) salad drenched in Italian dressing, heavy on the vinegar. Next, the bread might have been ok if it hadn't been sooo heavy on the oil/garlic/spices topping (also not particularly Italian). Our ziti entrees were a little better, which might have left me shrugging the negatives off for a 3-star review, if it hadn't been for the service. . . Pros: Not much of anything goes here, unfortunately. Cons: Just about everything. The food, service especially. more

Caesar's Is Bellissimo 7/2/2007

There is neither time nor room on this page to adequately describe Caesar, Vito and his entire staff. Sweet and lovable Caesar compliments the quality and wonder of his Italian cooking. That he takes pride in his craft is an understatement; for no matter what you order, and I have been there numerous times, the food is absolutely wonderful, abundant, tasty and totally authentic. You cannot find a more thorough menu nor finer tasting food anywhere on the Planet. The buffets are consistently great and if you cannot find your favorite dish on his vast menu, it does not exist. Furthermore, you can order food most days of the week until 5:00 AM and Caesar will deliver it to you. This might sound like a paid advertisement, but believe me it's not. I am simply addicted to Caesar's Ristorante Italiano. Joe Savage Pros: TOO NUMEROUS TO MENTION Cons: ABSOLUTELY NONE more

Try this place on a weekend! 1/18/2007

I love this place! The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and romantic. Caesar, the owner is so nice and he is usually seen mingling with the guests. I have tried a lot of the pasta dishes and I can't find any complaints except that I'm too full afterwards. ( very lage portions) You have to try this place on a weekend and bring a date or your wfe / husband. There are candle lit tables and a guitar player or two who will delight you with some music starting about 7pm. Sometimes there is a friend of Caesar who plays an accordian (and he's very good) who might show up. I showed up one Sat. night and Caesar along with some others were singing in Italian while the accordian guy was playing. Pros: Service, food is great, ambience is romantic Cons: You may have to take some food home with you if you don't want to waste it. more

Best Pizza and more 10/31/2006

Caesar's is definately one of the best Italian restaurants in Nashville. From the outside, it does not appear to be the quality place it proves inside. The staff is friendly and they treat you like you just entered their home....attentive and comforting. When eating in, I usually get a pasta (which is great everytime), but my favorite is to call in a pizza and pick it up on my way home. The pizza is AWESOME!! more

Best Italian restaurant in Nashville 8/21/2006

I grew up eating at places on ""The Hill"" in St. Louis. Anyone that knows good Italian food will concur that the places there are hard to beat and that comparitave Italian in Nashville is hard to find. Caeser does it all...the best Italian food in Nashville (or St. louis for that matter) and a staff that takes care of customers just like they were family! more

lousy italian ruined my night 8/15/2006

i love italian food, and one night i was craving anything italian. i had eaten at Caesar's once before and got the lasagna and was not thrilled, but thought i would give it another try because it's location is convenient for me. boy was i dissappointed. i got the ravioli this time and it was awful. the cheese ravioli was cold and rubbery. it tasted like frozen ravioli that had been heated in a microwave, and the sauce was just as bad. runny and bland with a bad after taste. the side salad that came with it wasn't even impressive. it's really sad because i haven't found that many italian places here in nashville, and i will NOT be returning to Caesars. Cons: food more

Salud! 6/30/2006

Incredible restaurant. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. The food is wonderful. Buffalo Mozz was some of best I've had in town. Gnocci & Ravioli were excellent. Lobster/shrimp fantastic in an extremely rich white sauce. On top of that, the deserts were top notch too. Pros: Excellent food, large menu, great atmosphere and freindly staff Cons: None we experienced more

AWESOME!! 3/17/2006

You just have to fall in love with Caesar and his own family. The food is so incredable, no matter what you order from pasta to grilled chicken and veggies, its always like they cooked it just for you. The service is the best in town and they always make you feel part of the family. Thurday night buffets are wonderful. They have a band play and sometimes some of the family will get in and sing a few tunes for the crowd. Its the perfect place for a very romantic date or just to hang out with your own family. I like to go some days by myself before school. Any time you go it never fails how wonderful it is. Go - enjoy yourself! I promise you won't regret it - soon you'll be bringing everyone you know to share in the joy. Pros: the food is amazing!, the staff, awesome!, Caeser, wonderful! Cons: none!, none!, none! more

Welcome to Italy! 12/15/2005

Besides the location being in the back corner of a strip mall, Caesar's is a place where you feel as if you've entered into a local ristorante in Italy. From the many pictures depicting Italian life, to the sometimes impromptu Italian singing by all, they are happy you have come. Be prepared to stay as long as you wish. As in the old country you are never made to feel rushed. They want you to be there and they want you to come back. You are treated as a guest in their world, and for a while you forget that you are in Nashville. Authentic dishes served with fresh sauces, and if there's room for more the desserts are fantastico. The real treat here is the atmosphere, friendly owner's, and staff. Pros: atmosphere, staff, inexpensive Cons: location more

A Great Experience 7/12/2005

Excellent food-my husband ordered the seafood dish with all the different seafoods, topped with a red sauce. More seafood on it than he's ever had anywhere else-even a large lobster tail! And the red sauce was fabulous. My combination of traditional Italian pastas was also excellent, as was my daughter's pizza. The service was outstanding - in addition, the owner and his wife allowed my 8 year old into the kitchen and let her make a pizza to take home - she truly felt special. Our new favorite place! Pros: Value for money, Service, Delicious food more

  • In Short
Italians would balk at Caesar's strip center location. Blindfold them, however, and they would instantly be at home once inside at a candlelit table, listening to Italian music...
