Dear Darth V, as one of the owners of Cabinet Discounters, it is upsetting to read such a bad review of our company especially since we don't believe it is fair. Upon you advising us that you thought the custom wall cabinets should be 1" higher, we agreed to order you new cabinets even though the custom moulding we offered would have solved your concerns. We even installed those cabinets at no charge to you even though this was a material only purchase. We apologize if this equates to a "F" in customer service, we certainly were trying to make you another one of our happy customers. more

F for customer service 5/13/2013

Good cabinets, horrible customer service. First they ordered the wrong size cabinets for our kitchen (their bad, not ours). After much fighting they agreed to replace them. So they sent them but wouldn't install. Now, we're stuck installing cabinets based on their mistake. In addition, they let a cabinet get wet and ruined - its being replaced but we have to take apart the cabinet so they can use parts on the new one and we are stuck replacing.\r \r Apparently the "discount" in cabinet discounters is customer service. I will never recommend them to anyone again - they were a bit more expensive than the big box but we figured we'd get better service. Not! more

Stay away 4/18/2012

I really wish I'd seen these reviews before I bought from CD. My sales person was very good at her job, but there are major design flaws that no one, incl. the templater from the countertop co., the plumber or any of the other people who saw the design, told me about. Some of the cabinet doors were flawed and the flooring people didn't bring enough trim to finish the job. They also did a totally amateur job on the thresholds, which has not been fixed yet. When the replacement doors finally came in (about a month after the job was "finished") one had been ordered in the wrong size. Another month has gone by and here we are, almost 3 months after the job began and it still isn't right. \r CD's price wasn't much different from all the other co's who bid on the job, but their execution is crap. more

stay away 4/18/2012

Terrible installation, still haven't completed the job 3 months after it began. Major design flaws that no one brought to my attention and now I have to live with a lousy design or pay major $$ to start all over. Also, they don't tell you until too late that they don't paint, so that had to be added as both extra cost and time. more

Look elsewere 7/16/2011

Our experience has been nothing but challenging.\r A 6 week remodel has become 6 months. \r Poor carpentry lead to many delays, costs and our time. \r Ownership took NO Ownership\r \r Our challenges with CD can not be emphasized enough! more

Be WARY 6/6/2010

Be very careful. After designing in the show room , you may be happy. Will get the need credit card to hold deal talk. Will get estimate !!!. Set up with installer to look at work . Estimate comes back 60% higher, due to things not known sitting in the show room . What you don't know , is you have already spent 500$ , and it is gone. To me it was just a bait and switch. Don't fall for it. \r Cannot comment on work , since the estimate was absurd, we are now fighting the 500$ charge for the switch. So if you want a 500$ idea , this is the place.\r more

Cabinet Discounters Inc: Would not Recommend! 10/3/2009

I would not recommend Cabinet Discounter in Columbia, MD. I had someone come to my house to measure for the cabinets and help design the kitchen. The cabinets that arrived were not the same quality as the sample we were shown in the store. They also arrived the wrong sizes, cabinet doors different, and installed not as diagramed. Very unhappy! more

Great Sales Staff / Not so great installer 7/24/2007

Had a very pleasant, patience kitchen designer/sales person. Not the greatest carpenter to install cabinets and remodeling. He installed the cabinets fine, but the other remodeling , moving doors, installing shelves, were done very sloppy. Some days he just never showed up for a few days at a time. Overall, pricing of cabinets were reasonable, but don't recommend the installer (can't remember his name). In the end, I did not have to pay for a portion of my bill due to the issues with the carpenter, major granite issues (not Cabinet Discounters fault), and other small issues. I'm borderline if I would recommend or not. If I had a different installer/carpenter, I'm sure things would have gone much more smoothly. more
